That was a game killer for me last year. The CPU just stood there. Guys like Ben and Shaq would stand there and get 0 offensive rebounds, killing their value to the team. You'd play the Pistons (cpu) and Ben is probably the worst player in LIVE 04 because the thing he does better than everyone (ie no rebounding) is a non factor.

    Great news

Yeah, I saw Ben grab a few offensive boards. At one point, he grabbed a rebound and looked to kick it out but I had everyone covered. With no other options available, he actually took a baseline jumper, which is something you would see him do once in a while.

I even saw Ben Wallace take a baseline 10 footer which is something you would never see in 2004. It was obvious that they put work into the midrange game.

The passes were much improved. I didn't see one over head pass and no one was jumping in the air to throw a cross court pass. PGs stayed in the back court for the inbound instead of running to half court like last year. Ball handlers no longer have their backs to the basket 90% of the time. They still turn their backs, but no where near as much as last year.

        Hmmmmmmm.

        Stupid baseball passes = fixed.

        Mid range game = fixed.

        Spacing problems= fixed.

        Offensive rebounds = fixed.

That's enough for me. I am officially getting this game the day it's released.

That is totally like Ben Wallace right there.

So is there any additions to the freestyle control in terms of crossovers?

Were the new additions any useful?

Was there any changes to the replay system?

Did the game show any signs of choppyness in the framerates?

Is there any new playsets or does the game still have the basic 4 plays?

How many games did you play and which one was the best?

I don't think any new dribbling Freestyle additions were added. I may be wrong, but I don't think so.

The new additions that I found useful were the rebounding controls. Each face button represents a different command. Alof different from last years terrible rebounding. Not only did they improve the rebounding, but it is now one of the better parts of the game.

Instant replay you mean? Instant replay seemed the same to me. I used it alot to get a good look at the players close up, or to replay one of the few dunks I was able to pull off in Slam Dunk mode.

No signs of choppyness or anything but my game did freeze a ton. I forgot the reason why, but Shawn told me to expect freezing throughout the game. Nothing to do with the game itself, but more because it was an early build.

Sorry, I didn't mess with play calling.

I played two single player games: NJ (me) vs. Dallas and Orlando (me) vs. Detroit, and one and a half multiplayer games against Shawn. Heat (me) vs. Denver and Houston (me) vs. Wolves.

NJ game wasn't all that fun because it wasn't until the game started that I realized how bad NJs roster now is. I mainly played that game to check for fixed problems.

Orlando game was very cool. I saw Detroit play very much like they do in real life, and the game overall was fun. I tried attacking the basket with Francis, but the two Wallace's were right there to deny me.

Best game was the Heat vs. Denver. Shawn came back from a huge deficit only to lose by 1. Wade was very fun to play with, he is awesome in the game.

Houston game was cut short due to lunch, but I was having a block party with Yao. It was pretty funny. None of the blocks seemed too drastic, and the block animations were spot on.

This might seem like an odd question, as I only played last year's game a few times.

I noticed in 04 that players would turn their back to the defender if they got within a certain distance. Basically I was frustrated because my perimeter players would start posting up anyone who came near them.

Is this still in the game? Thanks for the impressions too man.

Duece, thanks for the answers bro. Just a couple Q's for you.

How are the player models this year? Last year they looked like Oooompa Looompa's running around, hopefully this is fixed.

This is specific, so hopefully it happened, but you said they toned down the Defensive AI.... In 04 if I picked up my dribble in the post, I couldn't kick the ball back to anyone because of the AI's sticky hands that would pick off any pass that I tried to throw. Was this fixed?

And did you notice any new pick off animations or steals?

Thanks again, and Shawn, time to get in here and help Duece out! Thanks again fellas.
