I never thought roster editing was something that could be patched in. Theres always a chance it could come later.

Still disappointing in the mean time..

Can this be patched into Franchise mode or are we screwed?

I was close to pre-ordering through Live 18 the other day, but held off. I'm not a big roster edit guy, but it's nice to know the function is there so I can make changes if I feel like it.

I may just stick with playing one-off games in 18 until 19 falls under the $20 price point.

But, I'm also weak, so who knows, may still go with the pre-order deal, but definitely not happy that there's no editing in Franchise, and leads me to believe that mode hasn't been touched, which is not shocking, but disheartening.

I could be completely wrong but I won't be surprised if Live patches this feature in the game similar to how they patched in the edit player feature last year.

Just think about how Live is playing catch up with 2k and how some of 2ks current customers are on the fence when it comes to 2ks practices.

Would it be smarter for Live to add this feature and get a kudos from a few here and there, OR add this feature via a patch after recieving a lot of negative feedback asking for it to be in the game, so they can play the "We care about our customers" role when they patch it in.

Business wise this is a move that can fake people out in thinking man Live will make changes immediately when we have a problem unlike the competition, which could sway more customers over to Live, hell it worked last year when they added the edit player feature I bought the game immediately eventho it wasn't exactly what I wanted I was just happy to see them make an effort to get it in the game.

Good lord, is this live team serious!? Well they made my choice a lot easier, I'm mot putting up with a subpar basketball game for other year.

And do these devs read the threads? Seems like everything they've done is the opposite of what the few that play live have asked for.

WOW is right, I mean I know some of the Devs are here on OS, but man we have been complaining about this simple feature for quite some time now, why aren't we respected enough to get this corrected as we ask.

I mean I can state my opionion I paid for LIVE twice one for my X and the other for my PRO.

              This is a disapointment

Re: No editing in Franchise mode has been reported.

Well the only reasoning I can think of and what I have been noticing with this team in particular is that there developing this game in segments.

Like ever since 15 it's been bits and pieces of additions and like really nailing it down. It just so happen to be the one mode that everyone seems to be clinging to.

Yes there aware of the marketing and there aware of what 2k is doing, there also aware that they may even lose sales because of this move for the short term, but one thing I have noticed with this team they always keep using that word long time.

Game development seems to be a funny but very tendentious adventure. Look at what they have added since 15 and the stature of the steps they are taking each year in building this franchise back up.

Heck they could have added frost bite this year but they didnt, they seem to just keep nailing down gameplay and features. I mean I could be wrong and I'm not ordering this game.

I played the demo it seemed better than 18, in many ways which is great for moving forward. But it's not for me because I'm not really a park kinda dude. I love simulation game play and since 2k has that function that's what I have to play.

I hope I'm right. I hope for NBA lives 20th edition copy they come out with a bang. That will be there celebrating year as well. I'm talking frost bite engine mixed with the rpm. Full NBA franchise plus editing etc.

We can only hope, in the mean time good luck to the devs and to those that purchase the game enjoy.

Basically what storms warning above said.... so if history repeats itself, I’d say yes. I'd only assume they must have had issues with the new engine and the couldn't implement the editing process. I Don't know much about programming, but I'm sure there's a very good reason they didn't do it, or it was just time constraints. Keep in mind NBA live 18 didn’t sell very well but I do have to give them kudos for keeping it updated frequently ...hopefully they will implement player editing before the season starts

I got NBA Live 18 for $10 dollars but didn't play it much. I definitely like Live 19 much more. If editing makes its way in then I guess maybe I might keep my $35 dollar preorder. Here's to hoping!

I brought an edited roster into franchise and everytime I try to load the save its failed

tried multiple times multiple saves it wasn't until I brought the default roster into franchise that it loaded from a save.

has anyone else been able to get an edited roster imported into a franchise and then reloaded the save?

Man, Live looks so great on the court and the demo last year was really fun (I haven't played the demo this year yet). I'd really love to see Live get back to it's glory days. However, until they can get things like editing cpu trading, manual injuries, etc. in the game then I really just can't support them.

I only care about the franchise mode so know of this non-NBA stuff moves the needle for me with either game. I want my franchise mode to be a like a sandbox game that I can micromanage as much or as little as I want. I don't expect Live to be on the same level with 2K (as far as franchise features) any time soon, but to see basic stuff get passed over year after year is disheartening.

Live for me is a nice distraction from 2K. I'll just play some one-off games and then when I want my franchise experience back, I hop into 2K. It's probably a 90-10 split in 2K's favor in terms of play time. It's just nice to have options and I am happy that Live has improved gradually each release this generation. Still a lot of work to be done; I just hope they have the time to see it through.
