I like Lives player growth stuff. I had better success with second round picks than 2k where 2nd rounders are throw aways. I’d love to just see a basic editor where you can do equipment and numbers.

Re: No editing in Franchise mode has been reported.
Legitimate question. Would anyone be able to tell me what exactly are the drawbacks to no roster editing? Is it simply each player’s rating, trades, roster moves, etc.? Please elaborate. Does Live have roster sharing because that’s the furthest that I’d even go with the other game (i.e. download someone else rosters; I don’t have time to run a real life roster check and make corresponding player moves)
Even with the other game, I’ve never really found time to truly dive into franchise mode. Always been a play now offline person, but if I wanted to do franchise this year with either game, what would I be missing with Live 19? Even if there are player updates with the other game in the middle of the regular season IRL, if you wanted to use those new updates, wouldn’t you have to start your franchise over completely from scratch?Last edited by strawberryshortcake; 09-01-2018, 04:29 AM.Comment

Re: No editing in Franchise mode has been reported.
Hopefully we can message the Community manager to relay our message to the developers to add edit player in Franchise as an update. They added it last year in a form of a update

Its always been about these game-makers giving the players who spend their hard-earned money the creative freedom they may want or need, and in return, the game-makers draw more people into wanting to buy their product, who hope to experience that same creative freedom in the virtual sport world.
Remember, a lot of people who are behind the development of these current sports titles started out by modding games and editing rosters back when those features were seen as primitive yet essential in the sports video game industry, in order to give the players that sense of what its like being behind the scenes of the sport in action, the meat and potatoes of a sports management system or a standard sports franchise owner/GM/presidentLast edited by chrislive1994; 09-01-2018, 01:49 PM.Comment

Re: No editing in Franchise mode has been reported.
Evidently, you can't even use an edited roster that you import into Franchise as the save crashes every time you try to loadComment

And what about WNBA roster updates?? even though they have a shorter season, trades and signings/releases/suspensions do happen during their season, and they do have a free agency pool, but Live hasn't given it any shine because the NBA season ends and they stop updating the game at that point except the old "well maybe next year" line. Check it http://www.wnba.com/transactions/
Another reason why editing should be major for this game: the fact that some rosters in Live 18 and now Live 19 still have the same ongoing issues and are still not being corrected with patches and updates, like some players having the wrong numbers, not wearing the right gear/accessories, having unrealistic tendecies, wrong faces and hairstyles, and the wrong skin color (remember Bogdanovic from last year?) Some of the simpler issues happening in franchise and play now absolutely kills the immersion for a lot of players. And they know it, whether they admit it or not.
Missing players is another big gripe. Since there is no G-League in Live, creating a player that gets called up from that league seems like a no-brainer for Franchise heads. The editor that's in the game now is very faulty and wont save all your created players, especially if you wasted precious time creating them that you will never get back, and add the fact that importing rosters from the play now teams into Franchise breaks the mode. Waiting for an EA update and hoping they put that call-up on the right team or in the FA pool, and then come to find out that player looks nothing like its real-life counterpart is another immersion killer.
I know myself and many others here on the forum that don't want to wait for a Live dev to take their time and fix it while there are interested people that can do it manually and enjoy it at the same time FOR FREE and then share it to the community when we're done!! (meanwhile that dev could focus on other areas of the game that needs improvement or focus on the next new NBA Live game)
I get that some players might disagree and want to wait for official patches and updates as it may /may not fix the game's flaws over time, and that's fine, but when it comes to rosters AT THE VERY LEAST give us the option to edit and manage rosters with better tools, especially if your team is notorious for not being time-consistent with roster updates.
It won't hurt them unless they give it a chance. So they are in dire need of adding in a better roster editing, importing and sharing feature as well as a more in-depth player creator for the NBA/WNBA Play Now, The League, and Franchise modes!Last edited by chrislive1994; 09-02-2018, 10:41 AM.Comment

Re: No editing in Franchise mode has been reported.
the ability to edit players within franchise would be great; but as long as we can start a franchise with custom rosters, its not a game killer...
i don't need my franchise to be a 1:1 copy of the real-life events that happen in the nba, just allow me to add/remove accessories to my ball players and/or change their jersey numbers WITHIN franchise mode.X1 Gamertag: Super Baller Z

Re: No editing in Franchise mode has been reported.
i just discovered a fix for this: simply load the roster you used for your franchise, then load your franchise. it froze for me until i did it that way.

Edit:. Works for me too. Even though it says the roster is already active if I reload it before restarting franchise save it works.
That's a decent workaround. Hopefully they fix franchise to allow editing again soon... And fix some 2018 rookie faces please while at it.Last edited by Klocker; 09-02-2018, 05:14 AM.Comment

Ok that sounds hopeful. I'll give it another go. Thanks!

Loading a franchise with an edited roster set as the active roster doesn’t work for me. I can load a franchise save made with or without an edited roster as long as the default roster is set as the active roster.
So if you want to start a franchise with an edited roster, load the roster you want to use, start a franchise. Then back out of your franchise, load the default roster and then you can load your franchise with the edited roster.2016 NLL Champion Saskatchewan Rush

I'll try your way again just in case though last time I had default rosters loaded it still wouldn't load the franchise but it did when I loaded my edited one.
confusing haha all right will try again thank youComment

sorry for the double post but yes this works and it is almost as if a roster update fixed it maybe?
seems to be working with either roster I have loaded nowComment
