Re: Your favirite NBA Live this generation
It was actually really good, showed drastic improvement in 19. Tweaks were made that reverted a lot of improvements, and it ended up cancelled. If they would have continued on their path, would have been really good gameplay wise. Mode wise, still not sure, but game was shaping up really nice originally.Twitter - WTF_OS

Re: Your favirite NBA Live this generation
Haha, still can't say a lot about it, but in my month with the game, I saw some incredibly smart basketball. Of course it was still Live, but early on the control of the player on the court was just stellar. The signature mannerisms were pretty well done. With each tweak of the code though, more and more old issues kept creeping back up.
Early on, the game felt really free flowing. I had several plays where I was trailing on a play on defense and came away with a nasty chasedown block, swatting it out of bounds, etc. Tip rebounds were in and were really well done. Tipping the ball up 3-4 times sometimes, or tipping trying to tip it in, 2-3 times from players in the paint.
Off ball movement was drastically improved. Saw Demarcus Cousins do a SICK J-Will off the elbow behind the back pass from the high post to a cutting Klay. I know it sounds arcady, but you had to "see it". It was nice. Blowby's were well done, phyiscal defense was well done.
It wasn't without fault, but the original few builds were NICE.Twitter - WTF_OS

I guess they didn't think it would sell well. At some point it seemed that no matter how good Live's gameplay is, it just didn't sell well.My Specs:

Re: Your favirite NBA Live this generation
Played some more Live 18, but this time bumped it up to Superstar, and wow it's even more intense and realistic. With some slider tweaks and a few more roster edits, I see some animations and plays I've hardly ever seen before.
Played vs the Cavs last night. LBJ was a beast with 34 pts, 7 rbs and 6 assts and at least one great block that I had to replay. Also saw him using his signature stepback about 3 times. He also got fouled during a dunk, which I don't remember seeing much before.
But my favorite play was by Tristen Thompson: He missed a shot in the paint, then got his own rebound and putback-dunked it. I don't remember seeing that before. And the Cavs' ball movement was really good. Even saw LBJ with a behind-the-back pass.
Kevin Love with outside shots and some nice work on the boards, overall it was a realistic game, and they blew my Pistons out of the water in Detroit. So I will keep testing Superstar, it seems to provide a great experience. My Specs:

Re: Your favirite NBA Live this generation
I just got a PS4 Pro for cheap to play all the Live games I’ve been missing out on!
Live 14:
Played a few full 12 minute quarter games. the game was actually a bit fun to play! I wish the pace was a bit faster, and the AI a bit smarter. Too much attacking the basket with no way to stop the CPU.
Overall, the graphics were not the best, but I loved that year and it’s fun playing with those rosters.
Live 15:
Much smoother and better gameplay. Also looks much better. A good jump! Played some dynasty and enjoyed being able to simulate quarters to play only the 4th, for example.
Live 16:
Love the gameplay improvements. Things seem faster paced and even smoother. Shooting is a little easier with the meter, but I like to turn that and all player indicators off.
Graphics look great, there’s just a red hue it seems on the whole game that bothers me a little bit.
I’m trying to take my time with these three games before I move to 18 and 19. I played these two a few years back and know how much I enjoyed them. Once I get 15 and 16 out of my system, and with a few good dynasty mode seasons, I’ll move on up!Comment

Re: Your favirite NBA Live this generation
I’ve been playing tons of Live 16 lately and it’s been a blast!
It’s been such a nice change of pace from 2K. I’ve been using the ESPN camera and have been playing nearly every game on my Dynasty. I do miss being able to edit players, and make three team trades, but this makes it more challenging.
I had a game go down to the wire at home with the Cavs, and man was it intense. It’s been years since I’ve been so into actually playing the game and not messing around the menus the majority of the time like I do in 2K in my league.Comment

Re: Your favirite NBA Live this generation
I also have a copy of 16. It's definitely a good game with nice physics and great graphics (except for that yellow tint). My main issue is the animations, once you play 18 it's hard to go back to 16, especially the low post game.
Actually went back to 2K15 which is a great great game. Now switched to 2K16 because control is better. These 2 games are my go-to NBA games for now.My Specs:

Re: Your favirite NBA Live this generation
honestly is great to see there are some ppl like myself, who would go back older games and enjoy them, and as far as i can recall, during that year of the game, i might not play that much due to the stuff going on at that moment in life,
i am about to buy nba live 16, i have 18 and 19 already, wanna see how it is...but noted that i can't edit anything in it, so will be a struggle
if wanna talk about 16 vs 17 vs 19, how would u guys compare?Comment

Re: Your favirite NBA Live this generation
No Live 17. I think 16 was a good game, I didn't own it when it came out, only got it a few years ago and had some fun with it. To me it had superior physics over 18 and 19, especially 19 where most interactions between the ball handler and the defender felt scripted and predetermined.
Other than that, I like 18 better and the ability to edit rosters and sliders, even without editing tendencies, is huge.My Specs:
