Lets try this guys. I've been reading on other threads but set the On Ball Defense Assist to 0. Maybe that will help with the blocks. If that works they we have nothing to worry about, but if it doesn't then try setting DAW for SG, PG, and SF's to 35-40, but leave Centers and PFs at what they are. Hmm so much testing and so much work this time EA....What are we the developers LOL.
Sounds good and most definitly something going on with the DAW. I would target those positions you mentioned but would come up on them slowly...maybe 25-30 and see what happens don't want to overload anything at this point and after all it was only one game.

Looking back it wasn't all that bad just a lot of offense at this point and should be an easy fix once BLOCKS are under contol. I'm going to replay the same game to see how consistant this holds up and you guys can check out the stats I posted with those results as a template to start from...I'm off to replay the game again and watch for things I know we can fix.

After all this was a game with the Bulls and Lakers so this was kinda expected but not to this extreme so off I go guys more testing.

Are you sure about On-ball defense its not the same for the USER as it is for the CPU...CPU has no need for assistance its basically to keep players in front of you ,for the USER it places you in a particular position on the court in case you're having difficulty hanging with the CPU thus the term assistance for the USER.

Well the On Ball D Assist will help give you more space, with that you should achieve less blocks. Both should be set to 0 to create more space, which should give you less blocks. What this should also do is help the user get steals and get more open space to get to their man. Monkey on the Pared thread was talking about lowering the D Ball Assist to 0. I'm about to do some major testing on it.

Just remmeber its On Ball D Assist not On Ball Physical D.

Game 2 much better with the same numbers nothing changed and here the final score guys.....
                    Final Score.......Lakers 100...Bulls......109

Believe it or not now it appears that things are looking up and this was the second game with only 19 total block for both teams...Lakers 12 and the Bulls 7 as you can see this looks normal and from what I've observed these meet NBA statistics so there may be something in the settings I used after all.

I used for On-ball Defense for the CPU a setting of "0" against itself CPU vs CPU and the game flowed much much better but still needing only minor tweaks and then again maybe not because the Default settings are balanced out already needing little influence from the user to tweak or max them out in other words the defaults are calibrated to play the most FAIR and BALANCED game not needing higher levels only for USER competiveness, the CPU holds its own in most cases the numbers don't lie and like I always say "sometimes less is more"also I used 5 for FATIGUE EFFECT and speed at 42 all FOULS at DEFAULT.

                    CPU STEAL..........40
                    CPU INT..............10
                    CPU SHT BLK........0
                    CPU DNK/LYUP......0
                    CPU FRSTYL EFFCT......35
                    CPU DNK FRQ.......50
                    CPU SUB FRQ.......50
                    CPU ORB.............40
                    CPU DRB.............75
                    CPU FKOUT.........50
                    CPU SHT RNG......60
                    CPU MED RNG......60
                    CPU LNG RNG.....60
                    CPU DNK PCT......50
                    CPU LYUP PCT....50
                    CPU ADJ SHT PCT.....60
                    CPU ADJ SHT FRQ.....50
                    CPU On-ball PHY DEF.0
                    CPU POR SHT REL....50
                    CPU DBL TM EFCT...50
                    CPU PRO HOP EFCT.70
                    CPU DRP STP.........70

These are what I used and forgot to lower setting to 50 default but the results speak for themselves...I didn't post them but you can use these same number settings and play the game for yourself to get simular results.

They'er not perfect but flow really good for a 12 min game testing the CPU,of course I'll be lowering some shooting numbers but not by much I like what the CPU does at its best that being the defaults with minor adjustments and may just post these as CPU vs CPU sliders but for now they'er only for testing and the rosters are still in question concerning the DAW and BLOCKS so there you have it back to more testing...did I mention Kobe had 40 points and his Kobe clone had 36...true believe it or not the Defaults work this year.

I just tested all of that and On-ball assist I set on "0" for the CPU and its been about 6 games so far and it has an effect by my test for the CPU now the USER should have it easier due to the CPU opponents playing FAIR and not acting like guys on steroids. I'm thinking about starting that test from "0" to see how it feels for the user and will adjust to the GAMES FLOW in order to be FAIR when playing games against the CPU.

Anyway I just saw this and couldn't agree more "0" On-ball Defense is a sure way to get better gameplay and flow. I'm still testing bro and will keep you updated as things are looking up.

Nice! I was wondering where is the On Ball Defense Assist for the CPU though. I see it for the User but the CPU doesn't have that slider in my game. Hmm

It doesn't have one because there isn't one, that assist is for the USER to assist him/her the CPU uses the same thing except its called On-ball assist and I got that info from the manual same as last years nothing changed it still called and goes by the same name and has the same effect, in the manual last year they broke it down and explained it.
