But as I learnt the play (just from watching where people move) I started bringing it upcourt with McInnis and then passing to Gooden, who set up at the top of the key. I realised that when I gave it to him, Lebron would make a cut behind a screen from Z and get an open shot on the wing pretty much 90% of the time.

You have to know the play and get it to the right person before the play is run properly!

its not my plays that i'm having problems with (though i had that same problem in the beginning but realized how it worked eventually like you)

I just can seem to get the OPPOSING TEAM to follow the set plays i set for them thru the quick plays like what has been described in this thread. they still pick and roll and isolate and not follow the plays.

Someone please help. it would really make my gaming life if i had the other team set plays for themselves

Hey AdamBa17 I run Secondary Break for Portland. I use plays 6, 7 and 5.

The Roster edits were the key decisions in my final slider settings. It takes maybe 3-4 hours total to edit all players SHOT BLOCKING, PASSING and DEF AWARENESS rating and a few players JUMPING RATING as mentioned in this thread with my earlier post.

These Sliders only need tweaking based on QTR Length and usually GAME SPEED will correct the number of shots attempted in a game to get it close to NBA averages. For instance if you play 12 MINUTE QTR's you should play with Game Speed at 43, 11 MINUTES at 45 and 10 MINUTES at 47. I will make comments next to some settings explaining as to why they are set that way.

Some key points I wanted to make was that I've only used these sliders on ALL-STAR Level, PRESS BOX CAM VIEW and only with CPU SHOT CONTROL ON. I never go for steals on DEFENSE because I let the CPU AI and skill control that for the most part. Usually they do a very good job and you'll notice the difference between say Iverson and Nash in a game when it comes to defensive steals. The player edits have worked great for the shot blocks in this game. Now, combined with low/medium DEF pressure on all perimeter players for both HUMAN and CPU you'll see less blocks and better spacing. IN the NBA you don't see every guy defending closely on the perimeter and that is what I've strived for better spacing both ON and OFF the BALL DEFENSE.

I listed some set plays that takes advantage of every teams top scorers in certain sets within an offensive playbook. Anyone needing help with the Plays and sets as to how they are actually run should refer to EA's older basketball titles like MM 2004 or NBA LIVE 2004. You can see play diagrams for each particular play assignment. I posted within this thread how to go about getting the CPU to actually run those plays and feed the ball to their GO TO GUY's on offense. Just do a little searching and you should find my team play sets that best utilize each teams talents. I will post the remainding teams I didn't get to in a different post.

Here's what I thrived for with my sliders in terms of game play and stats.

            1).Realistic shooting % between 35-45%
2).Block Shots between 4-7 per game for each team.
3).Turnovers per game around 10-15 which is actually lower than NBA avg.
4).Player Edits that create better defensive play but with less blocks.
5).Teams will run actual plays by using my QUICK PLAY FORMAT I posted.
6).Getting teams to the FT LINE between 15-25 times per game.
7).Getting atleast 1-2 starters in foul trouble for most games.
8).Make sure starters play 30+ minutes per game.
9).Make the CPU very challenging on the All-Star level without AI cheating.

I can't wait to try out these sliders. From just playing the game without a slider set from the forums, there are plenty of fouls. I just hope I can get the CPU shooting percentage down.

Yeah, I'm going to be doing this tonight and sunday after work. The trade for Walker actually allows me to expand Boston's scoring options which will now include plays for Walker, Pierce and Davis since they will get the majority of the shoyts. The same for Golden St...I'm going to tailor it to their backcourt since BDiddy and Richardson will dominate the ball.

If anyone else needs any particular plays for a certain team let me know and I'll see what plays bets acclimate that player to his new team.

Someone please help. it would really make my gaming life if i had the other team set plays for themselves
I just used these sliders/teamplays as described in this thread.. I played a Bobcats(CPU) vs Warriors(me) and Okafor had a measly 4 shots the whole game.. going 3/4 and 1/2 from the line.. However I think Rush had 16 shots, Wallace 12, and Hart 20.. They continued to use the whole pick n roll / iso crap and never gave it to okafor or brezec.. I even let Okafor sit around wide open, but he never received the ball.. Very frustrating..
                        I do because I can, I can because I want, I want because you say I can't

THats why you have to use the selected play #'s for the first three slots. I hardly ever leave Iso, or Pick N Roll in the quick play slots. Also, make sure Okafor is the Bobcats PF not Center and use the play that is tailored for him in the first slot and more often than not you'll see them go down low to him.

Try these plays next time when you play the Bobcats.....This will get Omeka the rock.

                            Sideline 1
                            Utah 3
                            Inside 4

All three players are tailored towards the PF posistion. Use all three if you like and Okafor will get a touch every time down floor. It also will reduce the amount of shots your perimeter players take.

I'm pretty sure I had Sideline Tri 1-2-6 and then Box for the 4th quickplay. Many times.. the Bobcat players with the ball would just sit there for a long time holding the ball as the shotclock wound down.. then launched.. Okafor was listed as PF and Brezec at C.
