Re: ALL-STAR Sliders for Press Box CAM (with CPU Shot Control)

This is my modified version. I've been using these whenever I've had time to play. I took the best of my global sliders and gameplay sliders to create one complete set that plays NBA Basketball based upon what we are seeing this year and the direction the league is going. I've gone into detail as to what each slider globally effects on the front page so anyone needing a reason as to why or how I came up with those setting can check the first page of this thread. Keep in mind the NBA game is becoming more and more uptempo today. A handful of teams are now going with smaller lineups to dictate matchups and tempo. The ref's are calling more and more reach-in fouls and hand checking fouls to increase scoring. Teams are averaging as whole around 16-18 turnovers a game with some teams eclipsing over 20 tunovers on any given night.

A couple of things that I've spent time doing manually is I lowered all SF's, SG's and PG's shot block ability down to zero. That has allowed me to keep blocks at a very reasonable level which is anywhere from 4-6 a game and usually they come in the low post. My gameplay settings for all FG ranges were strictly created with "CPU SHOT" control ON. I play with set plays for both Human and CPU based upon each teams strength....for instance if I"m playing the CPU and they are San Antonio I will set them up to have atleast 3 out of 4 sets BOX, Post UP or Inside Triangle that will run plays through Duncan that way he is constantly being fed the ball. Defensively, I try to mix and match sets making sure a team like the T-Wolves or Mavs will always switch-up constantly from man to zone.

Re: ALL-STAR Sliders for Press Box CAM (with CPU Shot Control)

OK dude, I've got some bad news.

              CLE (me) BOS (CPU)
              84 Points 92
              28 Rebounds 31
              21 Assists 9
              6 Steals 23
              17 Blocks 2
              16 Fouls 13
              28 Turnovers 15
              38/66 Field Goals 37/85
              .576 Field Goal % .435
              4/13 3 pointers 3/17
              .308 3 point % .176
              4/5 Free Throws 15/20
              .800 Free Throw % .750
              5 Offensive Reb 11
              23 Defensive Reb 20

              Points - OK point scores.
Rebounds - A little low. I did shoot a high % though (more on that later).
Assists - Good for me, can't help being low for CPU.
Steals - OK, this is the bad part. 6 for me, but I'm crap at steals. CPU - 23 steals. This is out of hand man. I knew I was in for bad trouble when you moved the steal setting up. How are you not seeing this amount of steals? I was making good passes all game and they were just taking them away. I was NOT aloud to pick up my dribble as that was an automatic steal for them every time. Because of these steals, all other stats went out of wack.
Blocks - This was a fluke. I've been using the same block sliders as these and only been averaging about 4 blocks a game before, so this was an exceptional game. It happens in the NBA. 2 blocks for CPU, fine. The CPU averages about 5 blocks against me a game. I haven't made any edits, I just play good basketball.
Fouls - A little low, but OK.
Turnovers - Due to the steals, I had 28. There are other ways of having an NBA number of turnovers WITHOUT having the ball stolen 23 times. This is proved, as I only had 6 steals and they had a realistic amount of TO's.
Field goals - Fine. Mine was low because every possession I was getting the ball taken away.
Field Goal % - Well, mine was high, but I couldn't play my game. I had to dump the ball inside for the slam or layup everytime. I could only have about 4 passes on every play, so I couldnt take any outside shots, as the ball would be stolen before I had a chance to get a good one. Fine for CPU.
              3 pointers - Great.
3 point % - Not good for CPU.
Free Throws - Only 5 for me, but there were plenty of fouls against me. I couldn't get to the line coz I didn't have the ball much! Still low either way.
Free throw % - Great. The free throw slider is perfect for me.
              Offensive Rebounds - LOW.
Defensive Rebounds - Low, but Because of my FG% and lack of shots.

Overall, I have to say I'm really disappointed. The steals messed everything up in that game. I can't run with these, its way too unrealistic with the steals. Some other stats were good, but I may have to make some edits for myself because I just had the worst game ever.

Can anyone else post stats so we can see what everyone else is getting?

It looks like the only sliders hurting your game play is Steal and INT's......tinker with them to fit your needs. As for the Offensive rebounds being low I don't know what range you are thinking offensive rebounds should be at per game but usually NBA teams are averaging in the range of 9-11 per game if not lower. Very rarely does teams approach 15-20 offensive rebounds in game.

                    .800 Free Throw % .750

Oh ok. I thought the NBA average was like 13. That's cool then.

If I just lower steals and keep the interceptions the same, will I still get an NBA number of turnovers? I'll have to try this out.

Other than the problem stated, the sliders seem great.

I really don't know why your seeing a lot of steals.....I guess it's probably depends on the individual playing style. I tried lowering both sliders to around 20/20 and then I didn't see enough turnovers like 6-8 a game which is unrealistic because many teams in the NBA will go through stretches at some point and time during a game that they turn the ball over 3-4 times straight in one qtr. Also, I usually let the CPU AI decide to go for the steals on most occasions it helps a lot.

Ok, I finally started my franchise with these, and I can't believe how perfect they are man.

I ended up halving the stats for the CPU steal and interception and it works PERFECT! I kept the USER ones at the same coz I suck at steals.

I just dropped in to say thanks because I can't belive how perfect the stats are now that I sorted the steals out. I'm averaging 94 points, .436%fg, 34%3pt, 43 reb, 12 off 5 blocks, 8 steals, 24 fouls shots etc etc. It's really great.

Finally T-Mac is getting some rebounds as well! Before, only my big guys would get the rebounds and average about 10 a game, while all my other guards would only average like 2. Now Yao is averaing 9, howard 10, mcgrady 4, jackson 6 etc.

I wish that everyone wouldn't be so ignorant and try your sliders man. Just because you're not one of the 'regular' names, they wont try them out. But it's their loss dude, not ours!

Thanks for making my NBA Live a whole lot better! These are PERFECT for my playing style!
