Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
Just throwing this out there for the guys continuously posting their legacies.. It is really fun reading your legacies and would be even more fun if you guys posted in the dynasty forum if you have the time. It's always fun reading everyone's legacy in depth. Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
Just started a new closed legacy as saint Francis ny with much tougher sliders this time around. Currently 1-0 with a win over Harvard. Playing now as I speak against saint johns, down by 8 points with 9:30 to go. I can't buy a bucket this team needs work. Current recruiting priority is size, my tallest player is 6'7 currently lol goal in this first season is trying to win my conference tourny. Predicting that I'll get slaughtered on the boards come ncca tourny time IF I make there.Comment

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
I have a dilemma. I am currently the coach of Nevada and just won my first championship. I only lose one key player but he is replaced by a to-be senior with the same skill set. I have the #1 center and #1 shooting guard coming in so I have a great chance to repeat. My dream job is Ohio State and Thad Matte is getting fired this off season. Should I stay for the possible repeat and hope OSU opens back up later or rebuild Ohio State now?GT dericksun

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
Got kinda bored with building up a team - I don't mind taking lumps for a couple years but it got difficult to get players to South Dakota St that fit my style (RUN!!!). I did something a little differently. I wanted to still do a closed legacy, but I upgraded my team and the teams in my conference to fit the styles of their coach and gave them better overall talent. Several Southland teams have 2-3 great FR players added to their roster with low potential (to keep them in school 3-4 years) to add a challenge. Taking Texas St, I loaded my schedule with Top 10 teams and the better teams in Texas. So far I am 13-3 with losses to St Joes (by 1), Kansas (1st game, lost by 3) and 1st league opponent Northwestern LA (more on that). I have close wins over #1 Memphis (three at the buzzer, 76-75 - unlocked that attribute point!) and blew out Georgetown.
While I ran the Hoyas out of their gym, Northwestern LA out ran me, beating me by 13 (136-123, not a typo) Gotta love this game; I beat Memphis and got beat by an afterthought (in the game's dichotomy). Really enjoying the game and looking forward to seeing how well Texas St and the rest of the Southland do in the near future and beyond.
As for how my team is doing on an individual level my center is a 10 and 10 guy, my SG 13 and 4 ast per and my PF 28pts and 7 rebounds a game. Like Northwestern LA my coach settings are maxed out on tempo and fast break and I run a constant press on the ball handler. I sub out five at a time, but I SUFFER when I bring in the 2nd five. Of course because of the trapping smart players get passes for easy baskets and I have a real Achilles heel in rebounding (season avg is -6 per game). However it makes the game interesting. I may eventually post in the dynasty area, but I work 56 hours a week. Time is at a premium.Comment

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
Quick little update on the WSS Rams. For you readers, if you haven't figured it out already, this team is awful. If we have a poor shooting night, we're doomed. After picking up a 61-52 win over Coppin State, the Rams would go on to lose the next two games against Howard and Hampton by final scores of 56-45 and 72-36 respectively..... Yeahhhhh.
What I think I need to fix is my defense. Defense is one of the most important parts in this play style (in my opinion). Since jumpshots don't seem to be working at this time, I'm thinking about changing our attack. Looking up the different offensive styles, I think I'm going to try the box offense.James Naismith visited an Indiana basketball state finals game along with 15,000 screaming fans and later wrote, that while it was invented in Massachusetts, "basketball really had its origin in Indiana, which remains the center of the sport."Comment

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
Michigan is my dream job. Hopefully I'll get that offer one day. Just about through my first year at Hartford here. Sitting at 14-14 overall, and 8-5 in AEC play. Just got my first win in my last 5 as I hit a rough patch. Looks like I'll end up with a 3 seed for the conference tournament, if the AEC even has one. LOL.Comment

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
Not happy with the box offense, going to try the Ucla High Post, half court offense still, running the 1-3-1 match-up as primary/secondary and the 3-2 as pressure. Going to crank up the defensive pressure slider in coaching profile, and going to make sure my team focuses on rebounding on defense and hopefully slows it down on offense. If I remember correctly, we're 13-9 with 5-6 games left before the conference tournament, it looks like we'll have to win that to get in the NCAA Tiurnament....James Naismith visited an Indiana basketball state finals game along with 15,000 screaming fans and later wrote, that while it was invented in Massachusetts, "basketball really had its origin in Indiana, which remains the center of the sport."Comment

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
Well, I am really intrigued by how this offensive setup is working out. A few recaps....
vs. NC A&T: The game was tied 29-29 at halftime. In the second half, NC A&T put up another 29 points, but we put up 36 to get the 65-58 win.
vs. Norfolk State: O'Quinn absolutely murdered our defense by putting up 24 points. Lucky for us, we had the 26-22 lead at halftime, and went on to win 64-57. O'Quinn was their only double-digit guy.
@ Florida A&M: This game was a pretty moderate game. The Rams were down 30-26 at halftime. We outscored FA&M 29-19 in the second half and won 55-49.
@ Bethune-Cookman: This game was a bit tougher for my guys to play. BCC lead 30-22 at halftime, and outscored us 29-20 in the second half to win 59-42.
So our record sits at 16-10, and I'm pretty pleased with what I've seen out of my team (especially them being a 58 overall now due to injuries and just overall bad performances by the team). We have one last regular season game against South Carolina State, and then it's off to the conference tournament. Last time we plays SCST, we won 60-56. Let's see if we can pull of another win on their home floor.
Tournament Resume: With the early season win over Iowa State in the Cyclone Challenge as well as the upset over Kansas State on their home floor, the Rams hope to get into the NCAA Tournament. WSS sits at #3 in the conference and can tie Maryland-Eastern Shore for 2nd with a win over the Bulldogs. Hampton has a 14-4 conference record, 21-8 overall record. It looks like the Rams are going to have to win the conference tournament to get a spot in the NCAA Tournament.James Naismith visited an Indiana basketball state finals game along with 15,000 screaming fans and later wrote, that while it was invented in Massachusetts, "basketball really had its origin in Indiana, which remains the center of the sport."Comment

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
The Rams suffer an early exit from the MEAC conference tournament. Norfolk State defeated them in a 54-50 back and forth battle. While Kyle O'Quinn had a quiet night, Pendarvis Williams put up 20 points on us. The Rams lead at halftime 30-22, but Norfolk State outscored us 32-20 in the second half to take the four point win.
So now, it looks like our hopes for an NCAA Tournament berth have been crushed as we aren't even on the bubble. Time to tune into the selection show to see what happens....

#1 Seeds: Florida, Memphis, Kentucky, Ohio State
-
So, the SEC leads the battle of gettiing teams into the NCAA Tournament by getting 7 teams into the tounament. WSS doesn't make it into the NCAA Tourny (not surprised), and is completely overlooked for the NIT....
(simulate the National Championship that I wanted to watch but accidently simmed...)
Kentucky goes on to beat Florida in the Championship game 65-57. The big story of this tournament was #2 seeded Fairfield. They went on to the Elite Eight where they would be eliminated by #5 seeded Baylor. Another big story would be #8 seed Harvard eliminating #1 seed Memphis in the second round. On to the off-season....
OFF-SEASON: So, we commit five 2* players. This year should be better running the UCLA High Post as we have a few more bigger guys than last year's team. I have to cut three of the players currently on my team. I think it'll be pretty straight-forward. Also, we got a transfer student from Troy. His overall rating is just about like everyone else's....Last edited by dxdude2004; 03-27-2012, 05:41 PM.James Naismith visited an Indiana basketball state finals game along with 15,000 screaming fans and later wrote, that while it was invented in Massachusetts, "basketball really had its origin in Indiana, which remains the center of the sport."Comment
