This can be so frustrating! I won a national title at St. John's in my fourth season. I added to the team and didn't really lose any big contributor from the title team, but the next season we didn't put it all together and I think ended up losing in the Sweet 16. Granted, my next recruiting class featured the #1 center in the nation who came in as an 85 and a top-tier freshman point guard rated 80 or so, but I ended up leaving for SMU instead of playing with them again. The growing pains can be tough to get through, but so satisfying in the end.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
Just finished up year two at Morehead State. It was a somewhat successful year finishing at 26-7, a little less impressive then the 30-3 record from year 1. I only lost two seniors the year prior but I felt it was a struggle all year to get a consistent lineup out on the court.
I won the OVC tournament 2 years in a row drawing a #9 seed in the South Region. The Eagles took on #8 West Virginia in what was a struggle for both teams but Morehead survived to live another day, or the alternative getting to play #1 Duke who also is the defending national champions!
It was a good contest between #9 Morehead St & #1 Duke. At times the Dukies got up by 15 points only to somehow manage to get it down to 6 with 4 minutes left in the game. Too many missed layups and putbacks ruined any chance for the Eagles to pull off the major upset of the tournament. Duke went on to win by 15, and continued their dominance by winning another National Title. That's 2 in 2 years!
I was offered over 15 different coaching jobs, but none stood out as the "Dream Job" for me, so I decided to continue with Morehead to hopefully lead them for at least one more year.
I ended up getting a 2* 7'0 center as my only recruit for the year, pairing him with last seasons Freshmen of the year M.J Wilson a 7'1 center. Can the twin towers lead Morehead State to another OVC title, and punch our ticket to a Sweet 16 birth? Stay tuned to find out...Last edited by Coach Playa; 03-14-2012, 04:32 PM.Comment

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
Just finished my second season with Hartford. We went 22-6 (12-4) in the regular season, finishing second place in the conference behind Binghamton. After winning the first two conference tournament games, I figured the final would be against Binghamton since we were the only conference team to beat them in the regular season. However, Vermont upset the Bearcats in the semis, and we took care of business in the title game, winning 90-66.
With a now 25-6 record, we were given a 12 seed and faced Michigan. If we won that game, we would've gotten a chance to avenge our Final Four loss last season against UConn, as they were the 4 seed.
The Michigan game was an instant classic. There were more lead changes than I can count on my two hands. While my Second Team All-American and Mid-Major Player of the Year who averages 29.5ppg disappeared (only scored 11), my PF who averages 6.3ppg went off for 24. The two keys to the game were 3-point shooting (Michigan went 10-14, we went 4-21) and Tim Hardaway Jr. Hardaway scored 17 of his 20 points in the second half, going 5-5 from deep to lead Michigan to a 79-75 victory.
It wasn't the finish to the season I had hoped for, but I have a lot to look forward to, as we return all 5 starters and every key contributor off the bench. On the recruiting front, I was able to land 4 players, one of which I was targeting on the ABL circuit since my first day as head coach. He is a 3* PG that will probably be coming off the bench, but will get solid minutes.
Some miscellaneous information: the Final Four was #5 Alabama vs. #4 Uconn and #3 Texas vs. #3 North Carolina. The Huskies lost in the title game for the second straight year, this time 96-86. And finally, Brad Stevens left Butler for the Penn State job...Last edited by BoilerBaller4; 03-15-2012, 12:02 AM.Purdue Boilermakers, Chicago Bears, Chicago Blackhawks, Chicago Cubs, Chicago BullsComment

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
Well...my team now sits at 3-7 with one more non-conference match-up against Baylor. Here are the results since the last time I posted.
#14 UConn 92 FAMU 63 L
FAMU 74 BCU 61 W
#10 Florida 104 FAMU 72 L
FAMU 76 North Florida 75 W
Kansas State 91 FAMU 57 L
#17 Texas A&M 79 FAMU 74
The Texas A&M game really hurts as we actually held a 43-38 lead going into the half...I was dominating them...but then they showed me why they were a Top 25 team and made a nice little comeback. My players made it pretty easy as we couldn't hit lay-ups or anything near the basket in the 2nd half. We also committed 17 fouls in the 2nd half...just ridiculous.
I have one more tough non-conference game against Baylor before I hop back into MEAC play.NCAA: Florida A&M Rattlers

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
Started a new legacy with Iowa last night on the 360. Using radierfan's roster (1-19 edition with some of my own edits to Iowa), mkharsh's sliders, and taf2k7's Recruiting & Tendencies spreadsheet.
Created 4 star guys who commited to Iowa in real life Adam Woodbury and Mike Gessel.
So far I am 2-0 with double digit wins over Chicago State and NC A&T. I'm using Iowa's 2011-12 schedule.
Had 29 points with Matt Gatens against NC A&T.
Planning on using the generators to record my dynasty when I have some time.GT: Herkyalert

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
I am at michigan state now and had been recruiting a stud from missouri since he was a freshman. He ended up being the number 1 recruit in the nation. I eventually lost him to texas but this was by far the most dissapointing thing that has happened to me in the leagacyComment

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
Just got the game and started a legacy with Ark. Pine Bluff and am 2-8. All annoyingly close losses including a crazy finish against #11 texas a&m but things are looking up because i got a 7'2" 312lbs center and small foward who looks to be great scorer to sign.Comment

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
Wow, that would be heart breaking! Longest I've ever recruited a single player for is when he was a sophomore. He turned out to be the #3 recruit in the country, top center in the class and came in rated an 86. Only thing was I changed schools the year he was going to come in so I didn't have a chance to play with him.Comment

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
Well Texas State did it. After crushing Nicollis State by more than 20, they went to face the #7 seeded SE Louisana. Boy, this team was more than a pushover.
Even though they were 12-15, the Lions had something to prove. It was a close game, a back and forth battle between the two. The final minute was the decider.
With a minute to go, Luke Mergerson made a layup to make the game 68-66 in favor of Texas State. SE Louisiana responded two possessions later with a layup down the middle. With 40 seconds left, State milked the clock down and ran a pick and roll with Mergerson. The rest is history, with Mergerson nailing the layup. SE Louisiana had its best shot to tie it, but missed on the reverse layup.
Texas State went onto Selection Sunday anticipating their matchup. They were matched up against #1 Maryland, it what looks to be a tough game. Can State pull off the unbelieveable upset?Comment

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
I'm doing a legacy with St. Francis(NY), a very fun team to play with. I've had an up and down first season so far, sitting at 9-9, 4-3 in conference play. We've got some solid scorers on this team, including guards - Ben Mockford - who is just lights out from the perimeter and Kevin Douglas who is just as deadly when he's on.
The biggest challenge with this team is the lack of size and the fact that we frequently get out-rebounded. It's definitely a lot of fun, though!

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
Fourth season at Detroit, with a couple big injuries at crucial stretches of the schedule, we managed to finish second to Valpo in the standings. Had good match-ups in the tournament, and made a run for our first ticket to the Dance!
Entered as the 12-seed facing 5-seed St. Joseph's, we got off to a terribly slow start. A little over midway through the first half we were down 14 points, but found a way to chip at the lead and went to half down just 4. St. Joe's was cold in the second half and we took advantage, and finished off with a 5 point win.
Second round we faced off with 4-seed Texas A&M. They had some good big men and a tough PG, and I managed to get all of them in foul trouble early in the the first half. Held a 6 point lead at half, and lead the entire second half. Up 6 with 2 minutes to play, I couldn't make a shot or stop the Aggies, as they hit a huge 3 to go up 1 with 5.5 seconds left. Last chance effort clanked the side of the rim, and that was it.
My Center finished as Conference PotY and first-team all-conference as a senior, averaging 15.6 ppg and 10 rpg, missing almost half the season. By far the best player in the league, was afraid he wouldn't have enough games to qualify.Comment

So I started my second season after winning the NIT on a last second layup and that 7'2" center is an absolute monster. He came in at a 70 overall and turned my paint into a foretress.Comment

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
Made a new Career Legacy the other day, starting with Winston-Salem State. I run the Princeton offense and a 1-3-1 matchup defense, and it's CPU vs. CPU. Hope to recruit some sharpshooters later.
First game of the year was in the Cyclone Challenge against Iowa State (an 80 team overall against our 59 team overall). Nice back and forth game, though my team made some nice runs. We pull out the win 72-67 from the free throw line, and our next game is against Centenary who beat Lipscomb 90-85. I hope that was just a matter of two awful defenses, and I hope we can pick up the win.James Naismith visited an Indiana basketball state finals game along with 15,000 screaming fans and later wrote, that while it was invented in Massachusetts, "basketball really had its origin in Indiana, which remains the center of the sport."Comment
