I know college hoops is the better game but the shooting animations and the item i discussed above are turning me off to the game. advice?
If you are still struggling after playing around 10-15 games I would look to the different slider sets that have been posted in the forum and adjust your sliders to give you a little bit of a better game.

Other than that if you are not familiar to how basketball plays are run turn on the play art and start trying out different plays to get open looks. That and if you have a decent PG & PF/C try running some quick pick n rolls for some looks under the hoop.

    Hope this helps

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Well I played my first game of the season and since I do not yet have the ability to make my own threads, blogs, dynasty's, etc. I will post it here.

First game of the season was a road trip to Colgate which proved to be tougher than I thought due to the fact that my 7' soph. center I. Eaton picked up 2 fouls early in the first half and picked up a 3rd with over 7 minutes left in the half. He won player and freshman of the conference last season so it goes without saying he is a big part of my team. Without him being able to play his normal amount of minutes, I turned to a true freshman PF by the name of S. Whitehead to pick up the slack and he did not disappoint going 9-14 from the field and scoring a big 20 points off the bench. Game went down to the wire but my Terriers were able to defend Colgate's final possession well and force a tough look from 3 that clanked off the rim as time expired giving us the 95-93 win.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Started a new CL with the new Rosters. (PS3). I use AuburnAlumni's sliders which are awesome, IMHO! (Set to 2nd to highest level - Is is called "All-American?")

Quick Run-down: I started at UNC-Greensboro. It's a good school to start with b/c even though the team is terrible they have a great Fr. SG - Trevis Simpson (70, A- Potential) & FR. SF - Tyler McNeely (72, A-). Rest of the team is pretty weak but those guys are fun to play with. Simpson is a scoring machine, McNeely is a defender & rebounder. Stayed 5 years there. Made it to the 2nd Round & Sweet 16.

Left there for Fordham. Stayed 3 years. In my 3rd year, I went to the championship game but lost to Miami.

Left Fordham for UNC. Roy Williams retired and the team was loaded! 1st Season, won the National Title. 2nd Season went to FF but lost to Louisville. Only reason for the jump was to gain Career/legacy coaching points.

Now that I have my Coach ranked as a B+, I left UNC & took the Pacific Tigers coaching job. This will be my last stop until Arkansas or Cincy (My dream schools) become available. I hired Jason Capel & Danny Manning as my assistants! (My coaching staff could beat my team!)

        * Year 1 - 13-18. (Somehow, breezed thru conference tourney. But got blown out in 1st round by UL again! 1 vs. 16 seed).

        * Year 2 - just starting. I have 6 Sr's this year. My team is ranked a 77 Overall. Best player is also ranked 77. My goal is to win the conference regular season title, make the big dance & recruit my tail off for 6 signee's.

Hopefully, this is the start of something big at Pacific. (I love it b/c you only get 3,000 legacy points & it's a challenge!)

started a CL with UC davis so I could recruit good talent out of california. I'm still in my first year, went 15-15 and won the conference championship, got to the tournament and I'm currently in the elite eight about to play against syracuse. i'm still getting the hang of everything since i just bought it yesterday, but this game is tons of fun so far.

edit: just beat syracuse. holy ****.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Was at Alcorn State and I think I stayed there for 3 or 4 years and had a winning record each year and I even reached the NCAA Tournment just to lose to TCU first round. Eventually in my last year there we went uhmm, 16 and something I can't quite remember. However they gave me a six year extension when I got them to the Tournment but after my last year I left for a two year deal at Gonzaga and I recently got another extension with them taking them to the NITT Tournment twice and having a +.500 record each year (1st. 21) (2. 21) (3. 19)
I'm also saving like 4 and 4, 4 stat and 5 star recruits until my starters are gone. My PF is averaging like 25 and 7
*simulation* I can't play the game, to outdated

I started a CPU vs. CPU closed legacy with Monmouth. I'm using Jukeman's sliders and Deepball's 2012-2013 roster. Khalil Brown and Marcus Ware have been solid inside, but with Ware graduating this year, I went out and got a 6'10 *** C, from NJ who should start from day one. I got blown out by Notre Dame 69-44, but we've held our own against everyone else. Next up we play Rider, who are currently 4-4 on the year. Hopefully we can get a W.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Update in my North Florida CPU vs CPU legacy:

I finished my third season over the weekend. 22-8 record and won the conference tournament. I lost a few games that I should have won, and could have finished with a better overall record.

Anyway, we got the 12 seed in the West Regional, facing West Virginia in the first round. It was a game I thought we had a chance to win, but the CPU thought otherwise. The first 10 minutes went fine, and it was back and forth. Things were looking good.

Then for some reason, the game decided that my team was not going to make any more shots, and WVU was going to hit everything they threw up. Down 20 at halftime, I decided that I was not going to suffer anymore, so I just simulated to the end and went to my offseason.

I was hoping for a job offer from a mid-major school, but I was too far down the list to receive any. But my contract with North Florida was renewed for 5 more seasons, so I can continue to build something there. With four returning starters and my best bench players coming back, I am hoping to build on the tournament experience and at least win a game this year.

I did manage to recruit a couple of 3-star kids in the offseason and some promising 2-stars (high potential) and have a decent bench now. I can actually go 12 deep in my rotation without a big loss of quality. My team rating is up to a 74 overall, the highest yet.

I am hoping that we can win even more games this season. We should have won maybe 25 games last year, but played sloppy down the stretch and lost a few games that we should have won. 6 of our 8 losses were in the conference. We ended up finishing third in the regular season, but could have (and probably should have) won the league.

Once upon a time, I had a lovely signature. Then it died. The end.

I don't know if many people come around here that often anymore but I just picked up the game a few weeks ago and finished my first season as UNC Greensboro. I went 20-15 including Conference Tourny winners and landed a NCAA tournament bid. I really had no reason being there we just got hot during the conference tournament and got killed by #4 seed GT by 42 points. Nothing really happening as far as recruiting signed a couple 2 star guys, honestly just trying to get out of here as quick as possible so I can actually win more games. A lot of these I simmed since I am really bad at this game however I am still enjoying having to work my way up. Mine probably wont be as realistic as some people on here, but hey I have to be having fun to keep playing!

Started my Iowa dynasty last night and am 2-0. I'm on the 360 and am using raiderfan's new rosters and mkharsh's slider with my own modifications.

Had a 9 point win over Texas-Pan-America in the season opener. I was up by 18 at halftime but got sloppy and their press got to me. Played a much better game against Central Michigan and won by 26.

                      Howard is up next.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

This summer, I just finished a 30 year closed legacy. (It took me about 4+ years, IRL). I started out as UNC-Greensboro. Went to the FF & won it all in my 4th year. Coached at a total of 6 schools. Won 8 NC. (PS3 user. Auburn Alumni's All-American Sliders, which are golden, IMHO).

Since then, I've never been able to find the magic. I've started several new legacies but got bored....

However, I just changed all the conferences to what they will be like next year (Or very close! There were a few fictional changes).

I took over Sacramento State and am having a blast again!!! I'm currently 2-1. Lost my opener to K-state by 9. Won by 3 against southern utah. Just beat UC-Davis last night in an EPIC game. I was up by 13 at half-time. They took it to me in the 2nd half. Actually had the lead with about 30 seconds left. My PF (Foreigner SR) hit a 3 to send it into overtime!

In OT, my team was down 2 with 8 secs left. My SG drilled a three at the buzzer to win the game 82-80!!!! (I looked at the replay over & over...the shot left his hand with about 0.2 secs on the clock!)

NBA 2K13 sets in it's case while CH2k8 still gets all the love!

Well, right now in my career I'm in the year 2013 and I'm coaching at UTSA. We're an 80 overall right now and we're coming off of a 23-7 season where we went a perfect 17-0 in conference play but exited the tourney after Marquette slapped us around a little. This team is just so head and shoulders above every other team talent wise it's ridiculous and we're pulling 3 and 4 star recruits like it's nothing. I love what I've built at UTSA because the present is bright, but the future looks even brighter for the program. If I can pull off another solid year, it might be my time to move on to a bigger better conference. I love coaching smaller schools in small conferences, but it's time to move up to at least a Major conference if not a struggling Power conference team.

                            I thought CH 2K8 had a 40-year legacy?

Ah, that might be. I know back on ESPN College Hoops 2K4, it was a 30-year legacy and it was a 40-year legacy in CH 2K6 (Xbox). I have a 360, so that is good as I'm not at year #19 in my legacy and didn't want to think it was already halfway over yet!
