As far as I can tell, this is about the only logic that legacy gets wrong. I'm sure it's frustrating, but I actually don't find too many players leaving early. What ratings/circumstances are you seeing players leaving early?

Anything over 80 an underclassmen could possibly leave...

My guy was rated at 82 and left because in his bio under pro buzz it said possible top pick.

It's just something that bugs me much like when you cut a scholarship player...those scholies should be available immediately if you're not in season

          Sure.

You will have to load it each time you load the game from the playbook save file that you created.

Load the saved playbook into playbook 1 and then load your legacy save.

Then when you start a game, hit the Y or triangle button (based on system) and give your team (or opponent) playbook 1 in the game options section.

Now your book is loaded into the game.

I won my conference year two, finished 22-8 and made it to the tourney. I was somehow an 11 seed, I don't really understand why though. I possibly could have made it even if I didn't win the OVC. I didn't have any top 25 wins, and only good team I played was Florida, who beat me decently. I had a player average 21 ppg, but he sadly didn't win POY for the OVC. I ending up losing to FSU despite having a good run to end the game.I had 6 players graduating, and replaced all of them with 3 star croots, one being JUCO. I declined an offer from UALR, who had the best team in their conference. The best overall of a player besides that team in their conference was a 76 (actually someone who I was battling for, barely lost) freshman, yet they had an 87 RS senior PG and 78 senior PF. I didn't want to have a huge turnover after one year, so I decided to stick it out to see if I can win my conference again.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

I'm just gonna recap the past couple days for me since I just got the game.

I started a Maryland Legacy with the 2014-2015 rosters. In the beginning of the season, I managed to pull in 4 recruits (a 4* point guard, a 5* center, a 3* shooting guard, and a 3* power forward). I was originally gonna go with the first 3 recruits, but I saw that the 3* power forward had no offers but had me as his number 1. Plus, he was a "Mr. Basketball" so I went for it.

I simmed the rest of the season and played some of the tournament. Surprisingly, we were the #4 seed, which also happened to be Maryland's actual seed this past tournament. I made it all the way to the Final Four, where I finally lost to Gonzaga in overtime..

Now I'm in my second season. 4 seniors graduated, so having those 4 recruits come in provided much needed depth. I ended up making the 5* center like Diamond Stone to somewhat match the current roster.

Conference games just started, and I won my first 2 against Michigan and Minnesota, bumping us up to #10 in the polls. Diamond Stone has been a monster averaging close to a double-double with 12 points and 8 rebounds a game. But Melo Trimble and Jake Layman are leading the charge, averaging 15+ points a game.

For recruiting, I went hard after two gifted local talents - a 5* SF and a 4* SG. Jake Layman, my current SF, will be graduating so having someone come in and replace him will be huge. I have no idea if Melo Trimble will leave since he's a "Dark Horse" right now despite the solid averages and high potential.

              Current rotation stands as:

              Trimble/Chandler (4*)/McCollum(Redshirted)
              Sykes(3*)/Wiley
              Layman/Nickens
              Carter/Dodd/Burrowes(Redshirted)
              Stone/Cekovsky

This is a very young and exciting team. More than half the players in the rotation are freshmen or sophomores. Hopefully their inexperience won't hold them back cuz they're looking to make a big run in the tournament.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

I'm now halfway into the season now at 15-2 winning the most exciting (close to heartbreaking) game I've played yet.

It was a home game against Purdue. Purdue has been doing mediocre thus far so it could be seen as an easy win, but I knew they had two huge 7 footers who could give me problems.. and boy did they give me problems. Purdue also managed to put some decent shooters along with Kendall Stephens around those big bodies.

The first half was pretty even - I think I was only down 2, definitely had to turn it up a notch once the second half started. Unfortunately, Purdue obviously was more successful at that building a 10 point lead with 10 minutes to go thanks to forced turnovers and offensive rebounding. I just didn't have any answers, and they were holding my big center Diamond Stone to under 10 points thus far. Melo Trimble was the only one really contributing with double digit scoring. But he was getting tired and the starting unit's defense as a whole wasn't cutting it.

So I put in a whole new platoon, and we end up going on an 8-0 run, the crowd's going crazy, and Purdue's being sloppy with the ball. There was about 5 minutes left when I put in my starters back in, hoping they could finish it off. Melo Trimble instantly made an impact, but Purdue kept answering back. Jake Layman, after starting 0/6 hits a huge 3 to tie the game with 3 minutes, but again, Purdue comes down the court gets fouled and takes a 1 point lead.

My whole team goes on a drought and a turnover fest for about 2 minutes.. but they managed to pick it up on defense as well forcing Purdue to take contested 3's. Thankfully, I eventually get a good look for Trimble and he hits a clutch 3 with 45 seconds left to give us a 2 point lead.

With how our defense has been playing, I thought that was the nail in the coffin, but I was woefully wrong. Purdue comes down the court and misses a tying jumper, so they intentionally foul. They had a foul to give, so I inbounded again, but somehow Trimble turns it over. One of their guards steals it and goes up for another game tying jumper and misses again! But of course, one of the 7 footers gets another offensive rebound with about 20 seconds left. They run a play and that same guard hits a 3 pointer with 7.7 seconds left.

I'm terrified at this point since I was not really sure who to go to -- Jake Layman, the senior who has been cold all night or Melo Trimble, the sophomore who used to defer to Dez Wells in these situations. I also took a timeout, but I forgot it didn't advance unless I advanced past half court, so there goes precious time coming down the court. I finally made the decision to have Melo be a hero. He dribbles up the court, goes the corner, pumpfakes, and hits the jumpshot of his life over that same guard and Kendall Stephens. Clock hits 0.0 and Maryland remains undefeated in conference play. It was awesome hearing the postgame recap Melo Trimble's play and "game changing performance". He finished with 23 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assists, and 2 steals. Final score: 70-69.

Started this legacy a few years ago after watching a Grinnell basketball game and wondering what it would be like if a team took their style a step further and attempted all of its shots from 3 point range. The goal was to build up-tempo, guard-heavy, full-court zone pressing teams with 11 or 12 legit shooters (80+ 3PT rating) all set with 100 3PT shot tendencies (and 0 for every other shot) and sub them in waves to keep them fresh (every 2-3 minutes). Early on the style worked well enough against poor teams but I always got punched out early in the tourney because my teams didn't have enough shooters or ballhandlers to beat anyone good. In my 4th season at Saint Mary's I had finally recruited well enough to go 12 deep and everything started clicking. I've won 215 games in a row with 5 national championships.

I'm still playing, up to 9 NCs in a row now. My winning streak made it all the way up to 302 games before I lost in the second game of the 2019-2020 season (95-89 to Texas A&M in the 2K Tournament). Keep me posted on your progress after you start your new legacy.

in my fourth season with Drexel, and we just won the palm shootout vs Kentucky in a game that went into 3 overtimes!!! We are now 4-0 and Kentucky suffers their first loss of the season moving them to 3-1. They also were ranked #15 in the AP polls before the loss.

I just started an OPEN legacy with Redford University using the 2010-2011 rosters and I just finished making a Fred Hoiberg style playbook that should allow me to spread the floor and play high tempo. The reason I do an open legacy is because I want the ability to edit all teams. I dislike in a closed legacy how there is always a numerous amount of 90+ teams and no underclassmen leaving early, it just isn't realistic to me. I chose Redford because it was one of the teams that had a coaching profile in which there was no previous record. When giving my coach attributes, I started all of my attributes at C- and used the same setup for a closed legacy in this scenario. I only used 5 points to start my legacy off. Looking forward to starting my season today.

Did a 40-year sim, over the span of a couple weeks or so. Chose Howard in Maryland. Man it's hard to leave the school you start with after you build them up. I had a couple chances to jump straight to high-major when I would have to rebuild at Howard and I would stay. Stayed for something like 32 years and won a national championship at Howard. Weird but cool feeling. Couple of a five-stars, and only 4-star and high 3-star recruits by the end. Crazy how much coaching attributes affect recruiting.

Great game. Next task will be an only-playing career legacy.

First off YES I play on MOP mode... Just finished my first year with Jacksonville State, we finished 19-14, won the OVC regular season and tournament(which was an absolute dog fight that took a buzzer beater to beat Tenn. Tech in the final). We went on to the tournament receiving a 12 seed, and upset Memphis and Alabama to advance to the Sweet 16. We fell in the Sweet 16 by 3 points to Wichita State, had a shot at the buzzer but missed, Wichita went on to win the National Title, brought in a 3 star freshman from China and a 7'2 project out of Montana(49 overall). We began the season with a loaded schedule to get ready for tournament. We opened at Wichita State and lost again by 3!!!!! I see a rivalry developing with the Shockers. We lost 6 seniors last year(3 of which contributed) so we are finding ourselves a bit.

After here so much about college hoops 2k8 I finally tracked down a copy here in the UK, dusted off my ps3, downloaded the 2014-1015 rosters and away I went.

I can't believe it's taken me so long to get this game, I don't even mind the outdated graphics, and using a slider set seems to make the gameplay awesome.

Absolutely loving the weekly roundup show (at least I think it's weekly).

Decided as a first time round I would do an open legacy and roll with LSU (my cousin attended the college and he was the one to get me into college sports).

Focusing on recruiting locally, need some height in the front court, looking for solid rebounders at the 4 and 5 spot, have found two potential players, around 7 foot the both of them, hopefully they will sign and dominate next year. For my last scholarship looking at a lights out shooter at the 3 spot, a little bit undersized but he tore up the AAU league with his shooting.

Started the season 2-0, McNeese State gave me a brief scare managing the tie the game with 1.20 left on the clock but we managed to get our act together and scrape out a 4 point lead to win 72-68.

Off to Hawaii now to play in the Hawaii shootout (is this the same as the Maui Invitational??) , and have a tough match up with Oklahoma State, ranked #23 I believe, so a good early test for the squad.

Rolling with Auburn Alumni's slider set, seem to get realistic scores and stats and like I said really like how to the game plays on this slider set.
