I've owned 2k8 since the day it has come out. I didn't think I would ever go to the NBA games, but 2k11 is REALLY good this year. But now that I am reading this thread, I am tempted to start a new Career Legacy and just sim all the games while trying to build up program after program. Any tips on the best way to run something like that?

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
Last time I posted here(a long time ago) I was in the midst of a legacy with Maine. That didn't go so well, as in I stopped playing for a while and did away with that legacy.
So today I decided to start anew doing a career legacy with Grambling, using raiderfan's 2010-11 rosters and MK's all conference sliders. It's going to be one tough season and I've already got 3 games under my belt.
The first 2 were in the 2k Sports Classic, where I got crushed by Denver 92-65 and then beat down by Oklahoma 81-51. The disparity in talent in both those games was very obvious, but I made a few adjustments before heading off to Georgia to take on the Bulldogs.
I honestly expected to get thrashed again, as, well, it's Georgia who's rated at a solid 80 overall compared to my 60-something overall Grambling squad. AND I'm on the road. Turns out, my team actually shows up to play, like for real. Less than 5 minutes into the game, it's 10-2 Grambling.
The game would get closer as it went on and neither team would lead by more than 9 at any point in the game. I led 32-28 at the half.
But, let's fast forward to about 3 minutes to go in the game. Georgia is up 59-56 and I've got the ball. I take my time, try to find an open man on the perimeter..more specifically Derron Hobbs who is my 3pt specialist. However, I've got my big 6'10 C down low, one on one. I give it to him and he drives for the lay up, makes it AND gets the foul. He would unfortunately miss the tying free throw.
It would only be a few possessions later that who else but Dobbs drains a three to give us the 61-59 lead with around 2:10 to go. Georgia would tie it very quickly by pushing the ball down the floor and driving to the basket nearly untouched. Under 2 minutes to go, I set up an iso and get my PG Rupert Rose open on the perimeter who drains a THREE!
It doesn't end there, Rose would get a steal only seconds later and that led to SF Brandon Wilson getting fouled whlie driving to the basket. He would make 1 of 2 free throws giving Grambling the 65-61 lead with somewhere around 1:15 to go.
Georgia had struggled all night from the field, they hastily threw up a three only to have it clank off the rim and into Frank Snow's hands, Snow being the aforementioned 6'10 C. This time down the floor, I'm looking to kill time, when with about :45 I find Dobbs who is, by some miracle, open behind the arc, he fires it up...IT'S GOOD FOR THREE!!! I literally jumped out of my seat when that shot fell through. 68-61, Georgia was getting desperate. They would score a bucket on the next possession, but were forced to foul me giving me free throws left and right, essentially that would be the rest of the game.
72-63 would be the final, Grambling manages to upset Georgia!I couldn't believe it after the way my first two games went.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
I've just simmed and recruited in my first two years at Texas State.
Using 2010-2011 rosters, Justin Rutty for Quinnipiac just won Player of the Year, Mid-Major Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Big Man of the Year, Conference Player of the Year, First Team AA and First Team All-Conference. He averaged 31 points, 14 boards and 2 blocks.
Crazy.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
Wow sounds like a stat glitch. Never seen someone who won all the awards. Was he the leader in pts, reb, and blks? Any duplicates?
My starting PF has duplicate stats with someone. Every stat is the same and I know he hasnt played 34 games halfway thru the season.Comment

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
He's rated like an 80 in year 2 and led the country in points and rebounds per game. He was top 5 in blocks per game and also averaged 2 steals.Comment

Thats beastly.
Ever try simcast? Im pretty sure it has the same sim engine as a regular sim. I have seen crazy lineups with 4 PG and a SG as C.Comment

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
I downloaded the latest roster yesterday and started a career legacy with Campbell. Nothing special to report yet as I only played a handful of games before bedtime.
I have noticed a few things already though when looking at stats before I quit for the night. There are a lot of guys that are averaging 30+ PPG, including some guys that are only rated in the high 60's overall.
The highest overall team is I believe Duke at an 89 overall. That is actually a good thing though compared to years past when you would have 5 or 6 teams rated in the 90's.Once upon a time, I had a lovely signature. Then it died. The end.Comment

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
Just started it up today, I am running with Mount St. Mary's of the Northeast Conference. I picked them for one reason, a 65 overall Freshman Point Guard. I run a 3 guard 2 forward system in which I just plan on slowing it down against the big boys and running and gunning against my conference foes.
I am real big on getting the rebounds and kicking it out to perimeter players. I'm hoping for a conference title and bolting after 2 years, I think it might be pretty tough to win with the lack of recruits I will get. I normally try to dip into the International ranks to find post players, for some reason the Bahamas and Brazil always have monster forwards.
I love this game.Comment

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
I recently started a new closed legacy with North Florida. So far, I'm 0-6 and losing by an average of 20 points. I came close to upsetting Missouri in my 3rd game, but lost 79-73. In my latest game, I was up 46-35 at halftime playing at Missouri State, but lost 91-69 as my team completely fell apart in the 2nd half. My next game is against 1-5 William & Mary. After that, I go on the road to face North Carolina, Miami, Florida Atlantic, and Purdue before starting conference play.Comment

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
Well i downloaded this years rosters, put in IU's real life schedule and couldnt wait to start another year of playing the crap out of this game.
Then I played my first game of the season.....
I cannot play this game anymore, the gameplay after playing NBA 2K11 everyday for the last month or so is just horrible. The gameplay is really boring to me now. I have played this game more then any other game I have the last 3 years but now I am bored to death trying to play it. This is coming from a huge college bball fan and not a very big NBA fan.
I dont know what it is but again I found myself bored in the two games I played last night.
Sorry for the rant, I am off to play NBA 2K11 again.
Is anyone else seeing the same thing I am?ND Season Ticket Holder since '72.Comment

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
I finished my first season last night in my new legacy using updated rosters with Campbell.
Final Record: 11-13. Lost in the first round of the conference tournament.
Highlights: Losing at South Carolina by only 8 points and actually having a 4 point lead in the second half.
Lowlights: Blowing a 17 point halftime lead against Florida Gulf Coast at home and going on to lose the game in the final minute.
I will sim through the NCAA Tournament tonight and get to the next season. I already have two recruits signed for next year. Neither one is that good at 2* each but they look like they will fit into my up-tempo full-court pressing style nicely.Once upon a time, I had a lovely signature. Then it died. The end.Comment

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
I finally picked up a win against William and Mary to move to 1-6 on the season. I nearly blew a 22 point lead in the 2nd half as they cut the lead to 8, but a couple of timely 3's put the game away, with the final score being 76-62. On the road against North Carolina, I was able to keep it close for the first 5 minutes of the game, before they started pulling away. The game was pretty much decided by halftime, but I managed to not get completely embarrased, as I only lost by 20, 82-62. My shooting has started to improve a bit, as I've gone from averaging scores in the 50's to now averaging upper 60's to low 70's over the past 5 or so games.
Barring an upset on the road, I'll be 1-10 before finishing up my non conference schedule at home against 1-6 Florida A&M. I'm hoping the tough non-conference will lead to a successful conference season against teams that are more on my level.Comment
