Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

    long story short
Syracuse rolled me up and i simmed to the ncca tourney where i got a 8 seed and slipped past houston in ot....only to lose to the numbert ! over all seed texas tech in 2nd round we gave them a fight but just not enough tourny expeirance to pull it off.......on a bright note started the new season with everyone back except for the backup Pf who walked on during my first season when we had no depth....but got 2 talented redshirt freshman ready to back up my monster front court......soph justin babcock 7'1 and junior center kris moore....who is now 7'4....along with sharpshooter senior lester beckwith who has switched from pg to sg with hsaa senior marvin brooks...the rock may be senior SF akil Simon who does it all at 6'10...he has leas the team in scoring all three years and could end the season as the all time scorer in golden flashes history ....added another decent 3 point shooting point and still have a jr cecil woodard who was a hsaa coming off the bench....im 90 rated overall and my team unity is 78 and its showing as we have already smashed thru road wins at Duke and at Texas Tech on the way to a 6-0 start...currently ranked 10th in the nation and in a battle with Memphis at my home arena....they are ranked 12th and its been up and down the whole game...Memphis is the first team all year who has been able to out rebound and score...they lead 69-65 with about 9 minutes to go.....

kent state not ready for prime time......turnovers missed free throws missed layups all added up to a 87-81 loss......the main concern had to be lester beckwith's 1-15 shooting and 0-10 from the 3....back to the drawing board....on a bright note we did make it to the game of the week

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

VMI season was great as a whole, but it was a tough end. Lost to High Point both times in conference, but coasted thru the conference tourny as i didnt have to play HP. Made it as a 6 seed with around a 32-4 I believe and beat 11 seed Princeton by 20. In the 2nd round against 3 seed Indiana, i was down 20 at half, got it to within 4 with a minute left, but couldnt stop them enough to get the upset.

I had 2 scholarships, got one JuCo sophmore (maybe freshman i cant remember) and hes been a nice PF for me. Other one went to Mr. BBall of Hawaii who i had scouted all year, and at the end had me on top, but ended up choosing Florida in the end, and i didnt get to use that scholarship, so i have 6 for the upcoming year.

I lost to #9 Louisville by 6 in my opener and thats where i stand at the moment. I have a solid nonconference schedule that includes Florida, Virginia Tech, VCU, Arizona, and Mizzou late in the year.

Starting one up with the University I attend, North Florida. Should be a difficult school to get the ball rolling, we don't have a whole lot to work with.

Will post updates, and continue to look for updates from others!

i really do like my guys, but for whatever reason i've had to come back in a lot, probably all of the games i've played and sometimes against teams that are significantly worse than myself, i'm 6-6 now but if i keep going down 10-15 points and having to battle back its going to be very stressful... oh well... i got 3 really nice freshman and a nice junior power forward so while i'm looking to make a run this year, i still have next year to look forward to
finished that year, so i'm now in year 3 at tennessee state, after 2 years at Northern Colorado. i finished 2nd in my conference to Tennessee Tech despite having beaten them twice, and lost in the first round of the OVC tournament to Austin Peay, whom i had beaten twice. they went on to win the OVC tournament and take the bid.

recruited 2 guys, a 6'9 230 3* SF who i scouted to be good shooting and good rebounding, he's coming off the bench for me now primarily as a PF but also plays some SF. also signed a 6' 3* SG who was at the high end of 3*s and he's coming off the bench for me as a combo guard. i'm now at 5-2 this season with losses to a tough Colorado @ the Garden, and loss @ Michigan where i had won the year previously. just had a bigtime win @ Tennessee, they had a lot of cats who would shoot up the first open look in the offense, but not a lot of cats who knocked those shots down, won big, 101-81.

              starting 5:
Soph PG Otis Cobb, 5'8, was a 4* recruit, strong ballhandler and passer, streaky jumpshot
Soph SG Josip Vagas, 6'7, 4* recruit, was 6'6 or maybe even 6'5 when i recruited him, great mid-range shooter, good slasher, good defender
Soph SF Othello Boxler, 6'8, 3* recruit, good midrange shooter, HIGH FLYER, catches alley oops from Cobb in transition, good rebounder, good defender
Senior PF Darius Cox, 6'8, inherited, very athletic, good offensive rebounder
Senior PF/C Andres Chiles, 6'8, inherited, undersized, but great touch inside, has had a 38 and 12 and 28 and 14 game this year, struggling lately.

              off the bench
6' PG/SG Teddy Blackett, good scorer, solid mid-range and 3 pt shooting, good dribbler, good passer, good slasher, will likely be a career 6th man
6'9 SF/PF Terrell Dunnington, solid shooter, good rebounder, very athletic. excellent option off the bench

i have a couple tall walk ons getting minutes at center and thats pretty much my rotation, i have some depth issues, but it shouldn't bother me in the OVC, still looking to win conference for the first time and make the NCAA tournament for the first time (in my 5th season as a head coach!) won coach of the year last year though and this season should be better.

at 18-11 last year that was my best record so far, definitely should win 20 this year, and if i don't get a NCAA tournament bid to me its a failure

wow poor shooting and poor effort in the round of 32 against #10 seed minnesota...we lose 69-59.....now i have to figure out whats next....cant really leave unless a power conf team offers....i really feel my conf schedule down the stretch hurt this team when we finally matched up with an even team

Sounds like a fun rebuilding job. I like how once you get to a power conference you pretty much have to win or show dramatic improvement right away, like within 2 years or you're gone.

Yea, I've been running my legacy for about 3 years off and on. I started out at Northern Colorado, had several good seasons and a couple wins in the NCAA tourney but never got past the second round. My second stop was Central Michigan where we made 3 sweet 16's in 7 years and had 1 final 4 run. After that I took the Minnesota job, sadly I got canned after 3 seasons. They were a top program and weren't happy with 2 early exits from the tourney. After being fired there I went to Idaho for 8 seasons and 8 NCAA births including one magical run to win the Championship in year 6. I just left Idaho because the job I had been waiting for...Iowa St. I'm in year 2 there. Season 1 was a disappointing 19 win season but we had the number 1 recruiting class in the country so things look good.

About to finish year 1 with Maine. Sitting at 9-15 (Something like that), with a solid conference record. Playing with some tough sliders, but I'm starting to learn the team and playing better.

I have one 3-star prospect committed, he's legit. Find him in the ABL, he's a 6'3 PG, I player lock with the PG...he's just an inside scoring machine. I might hit 20 ppg and 10 apg by his senior year. B potential, A athleticism, A skills.

I've got a couple other solid guards on the radar. One with B+ potential. Both are 6'2. They're going to look nice in 3 guard, fast-break style offense. Hopefully I land those two.

5-3 In year 2 at VMI. Had some tough losses. Lost to UNLV by 20 and then next game lost to Lipscomb (whom i hate and made a rivalry with) by 1 in OT. Down 3, i shot a 3 with my best shooter in that game and he drained it, and i had a bad feeling before i saw the score and they gave me 2 for it. I thought i had him set up behind the 3 off the inbounds, but he was a little closer up than i expected him to be once he got the ball.

Not as hot a start as last year, but its to be expected. I have 6 scholarships so even though i got 4 of 5 starters staying, i need to get in some talent so that in my 4th year when pretty much everybody i started with will be gone, i have some sophmores to fill the load
