I worked on a 2007 set and put countless hours into it and was pretty satisfied with the recruiting priorities and so forth. What I'm considering doing is starting out with that set and simming 3 or 4 seasons ahead and running a legacy with all or mostly generic recruited guys. I haven't decided who I'm using yet, but I think I'm going to use a small team in the Northeast and recruit the NY area.

I just messed with the create-a-play for HOURS last night. I find that to be really, really fun.
My only thing now is deciding on a team that I really want to stick with. But I'm torn because I'm waiting on these guys to finish up the 2011-12 Roster they're working on. Although it is kind've pointless seeing as they graduate. The real reason I'm waiting though is to see who is a bad team I can choose from once they do all the Rosters.

Sounds cool, my dude...I liked using Saint Francis because of the whole NY area. So many good prospects.

Re: This game owns my soul.
Another thing that I enjoy doing is creating several prospects and following their career during my legacy. Very rarely do I ever land one of the guys that I create, but it is fun to watch their progress and even play against them if they end up on my schedule. The center recruits are always a little too big (7'1" - 7'2" are far too frequent), so normally I'll create 6 or 7 good centers that are about 6'9" or 6'10".Boise State Broncos

Re: This game owns my soul.
Thanks...it took me a few seasons to learn how to coach fast and try to force tempo on the CPU. The bigger schools still make me pay but that's exactly how it should be.
I came very, very close to choosing Long Island before going with Bakersfield.Last edited by mistershadez; 10-25-2011, 09:45 PM.S.O.S. Crew

I'm going to try your coaching style later when I get home from classes. I am a cpu vs. cpu type guy, so it should be interesting to see how the 2011-12 Purdue Boilermakers hold up with this style.James Naismith visited an Indiana basketball state finals game along with 15,000 screaming fans and later wrote, that while it was invented in Massachusetts, "basketball really had its origin in Indiana, which remains the center of the sport."Comment

By far the great franchise mode by far there was soooooooo much you can do in there, from the crazy looking recuits and names, to the weekly wrap-up, This game was really great, I continue to still play this too this day!Comment

Re: This game owns my soul.
So I downloaded raider's 2011-12 rosters (using them for now until Deepball's are released), and I set up Purdue's schedule the best I could ( a few small games, couldn't do Puerto Rico Tip-off properly, it satisfies me though). I use Jukeman's sliders for cpu vs cpu.
SC guy, I think I found a post of yours at ncaastrategies, haha go figure. So I'm using that as my coach strategy now.
I watched my team play ten games before finding the previously mentioned link, and we are 10-0. All ten games had pretty high scoring, but nothing like LMU seeing as I am just now implementing the correct strategy for that. I don't the it'll be exactly the same in cpu vs cpu, but we'll see how it goes. The most points we have scored though are 89, and our largest margin of victory was an 81-41 win over Texas State in a tournament game. We'll see how this strategy works on the road @ Butler, and then we head back home to begin conference play against Michigan!James Naismith visited an Indiana basketball state finals game along with 15,000 screaming fans and later wrote, that while it was invented in Massachusetts, "basketball really had its origin in Indiana, which remains the center of the sport."Comment

Re: This game owns my soul.
Watched some of the games, then decided to simulate the season so I could bring in some of my own recruits. We finished 18-11 after losing to Northwestern in our first Big Ten conference tournament game. We just barely managed to get into the NCAA tournament against Austin Peay. I simmed that game, which we lost. Heading into the new season, I picked up one AA, Mr B, 5*, and some 4 star guys. Overall, the team looks pretty weak still. Hopefully we can managed....James Naismith visited an Indiana basketball state finals game along with 15,000 screaming fans and later wrote, that while it was invented in Massachusetts, "basketball really had its origin in Indiana, which remains the center of the sport."Comment

Re: This game owns my soul.
I went to two different Gamestops in my area after both showed they had the game instock online and the cases were on the shelves. I get to the counter at both Gamestops only to find that they don't have the game after all. Talk about disappointment LOL. And it was only $3 too. Oh well, I guess I'll keep searching. There's like 20 Gamestops spread throughout the region, so one of them has to at least have a copy.According to my old marketing professor, satisfaction is when product performance meets or exceeds consumer expectation.Comment

This season is starting off rather poorly for Purdue. It's really obvious now how much Hummel meant for our team last year.... I have guys on the team now that need to work on shooting... alot. My highest overall is a 74...... But luckily I have some good 4* guys interested in me. If I can reel them in, that would sure help with building a team.James Naismith visited an Indiana basketball state finals game along with 15,000 screaming fans and later wrote, that while it was invented in Massachusetts, "basketball really had its origin in Indiana, which remains the center of the sport."Comment

Re: This game owns my soul.
dxdude....in coaching the old LMU system, the first thing I do is find my three point shooters and set their 3pt shooting tendency at 99. Ironically enough, I run the Princeton offense to get more outside looks as long as I have a few bombers.S.O.S. Crew

Re: This game owns my soul.
EDIT: Also, the highest we've scored now is 92 in another tournament blowout game against Eastern Illinois. I'll think about changing up their tendencies though. I can imagine it would help a lot. It also gets interesting when the other team starts trying to trap my team, as if they're catching on to the fast break offense.Last edited by dxdude2004; 10-28-2011, 05:41 AM.James Naismith visited an Indiana basketball state finals game along with 15,000 screaming fans and later wrote, that while it was invented in Massachusetts, "basketball really had its origin in Indiana, which remains the center of the sport."Comment
