I just read through some of this thread and got me itching to play College Hoops but I didn't bring the 360 to college with me

Only game that I have played consistently over time and still play 4.5 years later.

I just barely got into it two years ago after it collected dust for a few years. Glad I kept it. Best game of all time. Well at least so far.

Re: This game owns my soul.

After 2 years of not playing this game I have rekindled my love. I prefer an open legacy but wanted a team with a brand new coach so my record could be 0-0 so I started a career with Utah. They are from a good conference and have ha success in the past but they aren't from a major conference so there is room to still move up to a major school. I've played 3 games and I'm hooked again.

I'd rather play this than 2k12 any day.

I think it's about time I started getting back into this game after a couple months off. I've tried to get into NCAA 13, but I just can't look past some of its flaws. I really want to like it as college football is my favorite sport, but I just can't...

The game shows its age in some ways now, but I've made it a point to not play any newer iterations of any basketball titles as I'm fully satisfied with this game and love legacy mode. The last thing I want is to play NBA 2K12 and not be able to get back into CH 2K8 as I don't really care for Association mode much and find legacy mode so fulfilling.

Thank you for your constructive input. It is very much appreciated.

Please suggest any better College Hoops games out there and get back to me.

This is a five year old game, but it's the best we have, so we just deal with it. And, frankly, the graphics are still okay and the gameplay isn't all that bad, even if it is aging some.

Just my opinion, but I think a large part of what's wrong with current gen sports games is an obsession with graphics. I don't care about helmets, cleats or hand towels. Give me 80% of the authenticity of text sims and somewhat decent graphics and I'm happy.

im not saying its not the best college hoops game, im just saying from an nba 2k fan standpoint, that it doesnt hold up to play anymore. i never played this game when it first came out but after a few games with it now, its a few notches below nba 2k8, and no one in their right mind would want to go back and play that. i love college bball like everyone else and wanted to have a game i can pop in and enjoy but college hoops 2k8 didnt do it for me and it isnt as great as everyone swears by on here

To see the reason why people still love this game, you'd need to play it for more than just a few games... The legacy mode is immense in it's detail...

To be fair, I can understand how going from NBA 2K for years and years, then switching back to CH2K8 after reading all the rave reviews would be disappointing after playing a couple games.

You can't experience Legacy in just a couple games.

Yeah, I think the immersion of legacy is what keeps most of us playing, not graphics and accessories.

The influx of casuals to NBA 2K is why we've seen little improvement in association mode, compared to my player which is stale, just my opinion.

What keeps me playing, even though I play others games and 2k12 from time to time, is that every legacy... even every new season in my current legacy is a new experience. I'm 17 years into my legacy, and keep one deciding to progress in that one even though I've had the rosters for this past season and this upcoming season.

Yeah, I'm in year 17 of my legacy I am posting in Dynasty HQ (in my signature). Frankly, I don't play this game for the "gameplay" or the "graphics", etc. I play it for legacy mode, point blank. I'm sure the gameplay is vastly inferior to the newer iterations of NBA 2K (though I've avoided them just for this very reason as I'll never get deep into Association Mode in NBA 2K and I don't want to ruin my fun with CH 2K).

If this game didn't have legacy mode, I wouldn't touch it anymore, but it just so happens that it has the best dynasty/franchise mode I've ever seen in a sports game.

Re: This game owns my soul.

I haven't even downloaded any new rosters besides the OS named ones that I got initially back in March 2008 when I purchased the game. I haven't played a full game outside of my one and only legacy in years, so I see no need to do so and have no intentions of starting a new legacy anytime soon.

I've always had issues with starting/restarting dynasties and never actually getting anywhere with them. But that is not the case with this game. I'm still amazed that I've managed to play through 17 full seasons of this game without simulating a single game.

Then again, it's taken me almost five years to do it! There's not too many video games that I sit around playing for five consecutive years!
