Re: Jalen to Knicks
Wow somebody was finally willing to take on Rose's contract. I'm pretty sure the first rounder has protection. The Raps have 2 first rounders this season.
Their own and the Nuggets (no protection on the pick). But the Raps better be careful because we still owe the Cavs a first rounder for the Lamond Murray trade.
It's going to be strange to see AD back in a Raps uni. He left on really bad terms with the fans. At least his contract comes off the books after this season.Comment

Raptors are looking to get rid of contracts so I can't kill them for making this trade but still horrible deal.Comment

Re: Jalen to Knicks
After giving it more thought, why in the world did Zeke make this trade?
I know even with AD leaving after the season the Knicks still have no cap room, but picking up Rose even makes the cap situation worse. The only way this trade makes sense is if the Knicks have the Raps first rounder this season or next season with no protection on the pick. But I'm pretty sure that's not the case.
I'm sure Knick fans will be thrilled to watch Rose play D.....
As a Raps fan, I like this deal a lot.Comment

Re: Jalen to Knicks
If Davis were to balk at playing for the Raptors he will be suspended and probably with no pay. I know this because during the weekly hoops show on the FAN here in Toronto that question was asked.
This is a good deal for the Raptors in that if AD is willing to play and not bring baggage then he could be a good influence for the young guys. Of course the Raptors aren't going to re-sign him.
I'm kinda sad to see Jalen go as he's been playing a lot better as of late but I understand why the trade was made.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Jalen to Knicks
I bet you that this 1st round pick is not ours or Denver's from this year. It's probably a 2009 1st or a heavily-protected first that New York won't be able to claim for a number of years unless the Raptors inexplicably do well in the next year or so.
What this deal boils down to is Isiah paying 17 milllion dollars for a 1st round pick, because neither of these players is much more than filler on either team right now.Last edited by yucatan; 02-03-2006, 04:33 PM.Comment
