Re: Lebron James game vs. Oak Hill

So far he isn't even the best player on the floor.

Is James the best player in the country?
Most likely. But this is all over-hybed.

Travis Best was the best player in the country by far when he was a Jr in high school as well. And he never lived up to the hype. Decent college career ok pro career.

Lebron James was probably just the best Jr in the last few years and got over-hyped.

I can clearly say it's over-hyped because for the hype he's been getting you'd think he would dominate on every play.
      He doesn't.

OK, well now he's the best player on the floor.
But still isn't up to the hype.
This isn't his fault. It's the media's for making him out to be the best high schooler ever. And it just isn't fair to say that.

          Well, he is 6'8"

I was more impressed with that nice pass then anything else.

That would be more one clear knock.
He's not a great outside shooter.
He's clearly a much better passer/athlete/inside player then anyone I've seen at this level.
And for all the hype he hasn't turned into a high school Stephen Marbury (who was the ultimate ball hog in high school, worse then at Ga Tech or even now) which is promising.

                  13, 4 boards, 4 assists, a steal in a 16 minute half.

He doesn't shoot the lights out like A.I..he's a team player.

Needs to work on his jumper really. Everything else is great.

he is probably nervous his jump shot is usually pretty good. His passing ability is outstanding and he is one great athlete. If they would give him more looks he would put up 50 a game.

The thing I like best is that he doesn't use a lot of extra movement to get the job done. He's very quick and his game is very fluid.

Just for the record, LeBron can shoot. He was not hitting tonight though, last year at state he had 23 in the first half with 5 three's.

He looked very good, but what struck me was the lack of his 1st step quickness. I was expecting a blazing first step, which i did not see. Not to say that he did not have the moves to get open and set up his teamates though.

The kid has a nice game. Very good passer. Not a "me-me" type of player the way Kobe and AI are. He doesn't waste his energy, maybe because he doesn't have to. The kid just lets the game come to him. Seems to be very well spoken and knows the game very well. He should do very well in the NBA.

If all consipiracy theories are true, then he should be going to the NY Knicks next year. That would be interesting. Run him at the PG spot, since he can handle so well, leave Houston and Spree where they're at. Hopefully Dice comes back at the 4, and I guess you really don't need a center, so just whoever there. That team would be instantly 30 times better.

he's a great player, but i have seen guys do what he did tonight in a high school game all my life. I'm not saying he is not good. He has a good feel for the game. But like Kenny Smith said, there are a lot of guys in high school that can do what he does they're just 6'1 or 6'2. Not taking anything away from him he's good.

it's not really fair to say what he is or how he will be off of one game. high school games are what they are:high school. so it's better to see him in practice or..hell...in a game of 3 on 3. cuz the true athlete and competitor shines out. when you are as talented as he is, you gonna eat these little guys for breaksfast, lunch and dinner. and you'll have your off nights. watch him over an entire season is probably the best to look at him in organized ball. not just one game. especially with all this hype upon him.
