One thing awesome about this series was the incredible play of Boris Diaw. If anything good came out of the Amare injury, it's the increased role and playing time for him. Wonder what the Suns do next year when Kurt Thomas and Amare come back. Can they really put Boris back on the bench?

I personally want to keep Kwame this year. Give him a good back up, and work on this catching/converting and he should be fine. The Lakers should go after a veteran point guard this season (Bobby Jackson), get some servicable bigs and continue working on this core (Kobe, Odom, Kwame, Luke) and continue developing Bynum as well as working Turiaf into 100% shape. They should be fine.
People are gonna blame Kwame for Game 7, we know that. They'll call out Lamar also. BUt if you think about it, the Suns had gone through what the Lakers went through today.
Early in the series, Barbosa/Jones couldn't buy a shot. Reminds you of Kwame.
Marion, although putting up decent numbers, wasn't playing very Marion-like. Reminds you of Odom.Comment

kwame, as did almost every other laker, looked like he had some like game 7 jittersOriginally posted by KDREI agree he had some good looks but just missed them. Lots of the guys did actually.
It wasnt just him that didnt get it done though, none of them did. Kwame cant be expected to be a super stud on offense because it isnt his game.
Oh and btw, he wont be in another uniform next season because they picked up his option late this season.
he definitely reverted back to the old kwame, rushing shots, etc.
his defense was pitiful too, actually ALL of the lakers had crap defense
i was yelling at smush for being stupid and repeatedly going behind screens on marion
i wanted to cry, what happened to the laker team that won almost won 4 games against the suns (i include game 1...cause 107-102 is pretty close)
and to the guy who said that "what suddenly now the laker team sucks" yes, they do suck
when you shoot like 36% as a team, INCLUDING kobe's 50%...then yes you sucked, in addition to letting the suns own you on offense and shoot 60%
the lakers got absolutely raped today, and the more i think of it, more i wonder, why kobe didn't at least TRY to take over in the 2nd...considering this is the same guy who singlehandedly propelled the lakers to a win by scoring 81 points in a game
its game 7, at least try the same effort or something....
and another thing, i didn't really see any energy from any of the lakers, they once again played timid, and they seemed nervous/tight aside from guys like bryant and sasha and turiafComment

Only difference is these are the guys who took the blame for all of the loses this season.
Then hailed as good players, then blamed again, but only by lakers fans.
It was an incredible thing to see.Comment

I jope the Lakers have interest in Mike James.
I'm laughing at the thought of Kobe and him struggling for Shots...
But seriously, if Mike could get his act right and not be much of a chucker, he'd be a great addition. Hopefully Colangelo can work some kind of sign and trade.Comment

Now, I might be the only one that sees this... but I compare what happened tonight to Kobe and the Lakers pretty much EXACTLY what happened to McGrady and the Rockets last year in round one.Originally posted by EWRMETSMaybe the best post in OS's history. wait are you saying laker fans all of a sudden "hailed the other lakers as good players"? and for this particular game, the blame falls on everybody equally.Originally posted by KDREOnly difference is these are the guys who took the blame for all of the loses this season.

well its confusing for a fan, because when they play well the lakers win, when they play badly on both ends they loseOriginally posted by KDREOnly difference is these are the guys who took the blame for all of the loses this season.

you obviously cant lump all the blame onto kobe, same as you cant lump all the credit for success onto kobe
i mean, are we supposed to pat kwame on the back for fumbling passes and going 2-10 in THE absolute most important game of the season, and at the least, not putting up a 17 pt 9 rebound performance like he did in game 6?Comment

Dont know if you heard, but after that Tim Thomas shot the last game, xtrasports inside reporters talked to a couple of lakers players, and so did mychal thompson.Originally posted by fobbybobby23kwame, as did almost every other laker, looked like he had some like game 7 jitters

Both said the team looked defeated in the lockerroom, and asked the players about it, and one who didnt want to be named said It was devestating", and the other said "I dont know how we're going to come back from this"
They already had it in mind that they were going to lose. Unless you can greatly motivate players like Rudy T was good at during his champ reign, its a lost cause, and there is noway you cant tell me kobe wasnt affected either, because he was.Comment

Mike James only cares about Mike James. In tight situations he'll take shots away from Kobe just like he did Tmac/Yao and im sure he did to Bosh as well.Originally posted by VinceI jope the Lakers have interest in Mike James.

agreed. for the most part, the laker fans (who aren't kobe worshipers) on this board just try to call it as it is (i do try and be objective). kwame played terrible. kobe seemed to have given up. smush sucked, walton disappeared, odom played pretty solid, but not spectacular. the lakers couldn't stop anybody that's the bottom line.Originally posted by fobbybobby23well its confusing for a fan, because when they play well the lakers win, when they play badly on both ends they lose

I understand. Its called being inconsistent, but when you play the bryangle all year then turn to the triangle, what do you expect?
Nope Kobe isnt totally at fault, but in the same situation with a much much lesser team, Tmac took all of the blame, and AI to an extent as well as KG. Its no different here.Comment

yea definitely going into a game 7 with that type of mentality spells doom
i can understand how it was demoralizing, but they caused the game 6 loss by their own stupidity as a team, they played crappy, had 20 TO's, dodged about a million bullets, and still were in prime position to win, up by 3 with 12 seconds to go and still managed to lose
that IS demoralizing, but they should have remembered they still played it close, and even with a crappy game nearly won the series...i dont understand why they weren't fired up
i mean you'd think phil jackson would excel at motivating his players in this type of situations, like replay some vids of raja bell clotheslining kobe or somethingComment
