I'll give Kobe credit where it's due: He made two huge shots to lead his team to a win. However, he should have never had that last opportunity (they could have stabbed Nash with knives and those refs wouldn't have called it).

You must have been watching a different game than me, because Nash wasn't even close to being fouled on that strip attempt. It was completely clean.Originally posted by badpoetI'll give Kobe credit where it's due: He made two huge shots to lead his team to a win. Yep... watch the replay... All clean. Excellent game by the Lakers and Kobe Bryant.
On a down note, the Cavs squandered one away that should have been won. I knew after Lebron had a huge half shooting, that he wouldn't attack in the second. You can't do that against this Wizards team. Congrats to the Wiz squad on a great comeback.Twitter - WTF_OS

You should be hiding for that better than Michael commentOriginally posted by Nomah5I have to be honest here. I moved to the Phoenix area 5 years ago because i was obsessed with Sir charles and the Suns. I am a die hard fan and they are getting out coached and out hustled by Jackson and the Lakers. We finally woke up a bit yesterday and with a mental letdown we let it go and the games best player(better than Michael) did what he was supposed to do. I am sick to my stomach over it BUT its not over. We have a strong chance of winning 3 in a row. You heard it here first... SUNS IN 7. If we lose, I'll be hiding.

Originally posted by fowessI don't recall saying the Lakers aren't doing an awesome job. I am actually quite happy to see what I'm seeing, to see the team finally understanding the concepts of the triangle and finally buying into it, and the role players finally gaining confidence ...
but ...
yeah, Kobe scored 62 on them in 3 quarters in the regular season, but he also scored 45 a game against the Suns in their 4 games and had one win (when Nash didn't play) in the regular season and they're now outplaying the Suns night in and night out. The regular season doesn't really matter is what I'm trying to get at (which the Lakers have proven thus far, right?)
It's just that a Laker/Dallas series would probably lack the post dominance on the Lakers part since Dallas has a lot more bigs (and bigs that block shots at that) and guys more suited to play half court offense than the Suns do. Maybe, Kwame and Lamar have decent series against Dallas too but they would not be dominating Dirk/Diop/Dampier like they are dominating this size deficient Suns team. And since LA is dominating the paint, thus slowing the game down, the Suns can't run and their offense comes to a screeching halt at times. Dallas, on the other hand, is a team that plays particularly well in the half court (under Avery), so the tempo the Lakers are currently setting wouldn't upset the Mavs much at all. Let us also not forget that Dallas has more scorers that can create their own shots than Phoenix has.
I probably shouldn't have said that Dallas would be destroying the Lakers right now, but it's crazy to not admit Phoenix (in terms of postseason play, when the game slows down) was a better matchup for the Lakers than Dallas.
By the by, the Lakers are doing a terrific job and I've been preaching to my friends that I believe they will win a championship in the next 3 to 4 years (and hell, maybe even sooner than that since they finally seem to get it now) but I firmly believe that if they had been playing Dallas right now, we would have a totally different story.
This was well said by you.
I think too many guy's are putting too much stock into Kobe's regular season game vs Dallas. The Mavs never bothered to adjust in the way they defended Kobe until that 3rd meeting and they basically shut him down.
But most importantly Dallas is a better defensive team than Phoenix and more discplined basically because Avery geared them all regular season in preparation of playoff style basketball. They don't look to outscore people like they did under Don Nelson. Execution and discipline is what would carry Dallas past the Lakers in a 7 game series.
It's much easier to sneak up and beat teams in the regular season simply because of travel and less prepartion teams have before games. Dallas has atheletes that will attack the rim on offense and take away passing lanes on defense then both Dampier and Diop are very active low post defensive BIG's.NCAA FOOTBALL 14 ALUMNI LEGENDS CPU vs CPU DYNASTY THREAD
