Sam Perkins? Guy averaged like 12 points a game as a Sonic. Hersey Hawkins? About the same. Nate? His career high in points was 7.6.

Steve Nash has had Kevin Johnson, Cedric Ceballos, Sam Cassell, Rex Chapman, Jason Kidd, Cliff Robinson, Antonio McDyess, Gary Trent, Michael Finley, Dirk, Marion, Juwan Howard, Nick Van Excel, Stoudamire, Antoine Walker, Antwan Jamison, Joe Johnson, Q-rich, etc.

Don't tell me he has been making no-names into stars.

What about Kevin Johnson? A career 18-9 guy, and had a stretch where he averaged 20+ and 10+.

nash's first two seasons in phoenix he played 10 MPG, then 22 MPG.. was hardly playing. this pretty much eliminates KJ, ced, cliffy, rex, and mcdyess.. although i agree, nash has had some great teammates during his career. but gary trent??

this season i wouldn't say he's making no names into stars, but the system + nash has made guys into solid contributors. diaw, bell, tim thomas. winning (edit: 50+) games with this group is pretty amazing.

In 1999, Gary Trent averaged 16 ppg, in Dallas.

KJ and The Glove are better than Nash.

And I haven't looked at ESPN's list, but it better have Magic Johnson in the #1 spot.

Don't you think people would be freaking out if Magic wasn't at the #1 spot?

                    Exactly!

Same reason why I would take Payton in his prime over Nash.

I'll never forget the way Payton nearly suffocated Jordan with his D in games 4,5, and 6 of the '96 finals. After Jordan lit up Hersey Hawkins in the first three games of the finals, Karl finally switched him with Payton. (Why he didn't do this sooner I'll always wonder...)

Payton held Jordan to 20/60 shooting in the final three games and allowed the Sonics to take 2 games in the series.

Nash, on the other hand, can't even guard a chair.

I think we need to put SCOTT SKILES in there...

he DOES hold the record in Assists in a single game (30).

Kidd was a terrible FT shooter when he came into the league is what I was saying....in the past few years he has become a well above average PG and that put him in a much higher slot for me.

I still think he is overrated as a passer/playmaker and certainly a leader. His teams have always struggled in the halfcourt due to his high turnovers and inability to make shots. He is far from effecient....give me Stockton anyday of the week. His lockdown defense??? I don't see it. He is physical no doubt but far from a great defender.
