    Re: Kobe Quote

The Lakeshow is probably the least talented team in the west 12-deep but there are 2 things the Lakers have that no one else does.
1.Lock down D in the clutch
    2.That "other level"

I remember reading an article in RING magazine about 10 years ago where Mike Tyson once said that he hates when an opponent is scared of him. He said he prefers an opponent that feels he can beat him. He said he likes a cocky, confident fighter. Then he can beat the DOGSH!T out of him and watch the guy's confidence erode slowly, round by round until his manhood is shot and he is afraid to come out for the next round.....

It does not matter whether or not the Mavs, Blazers or the Kings are afraid going in to a big game 7. What does matter is that EVERY SINGLE TIME the Lakeshow has had to turn it up late, the opponent has looked like five widdo' baby wabbits staring down a 18 wheeler doing 120. They can say their not afraid but they gotta beat em' when it counts. Talk is very inexpensive.

        Excelent point my friend...
But of those 3 contenders you mentioned, I only see Sacramento with the metal to do it (maybe Portland). Why? The Kings whent through it last year. They know what is to have to Lakers on the ropes only to not deliver the KO punch. What makes you think that experience doesn't count for this year?
I remember when the Kings where bounced by the Jazz yearly in the playoffs. I actually remember that 1st round series like 4 years ago,,,,KINGS UP BY 1 WITH 5 SEGS TO GO IN ARCO, SERIES WAS 2-1 IN FAVOR OF SAC., JAZZ IMBOUNDED TO STOCKTON WHO PICKED AND ROLLED WITH MALONE, WEBBER SWITCHED BUT LEFT STOCKTON OPEN FOR A 19 FOOTER WITH 1 SEG TO GO. STOCKTON HIT IT AND THE JAZZ ESCAPED ARCO WITH A 2-2 TIE. 2 DAYS LATER IN THE DECIDING 5TH GAME THE JAZZ CAME BACK IN THE 4TH QUARTER TO FORCE OT AND WON IT.

Next year, the Kings blew aways the Jazz in the 2nd round.

        My point?
The mental edge it's not that big of a factor vs the Kings, cause they already showed last year that they CAN and SHOULD have beaten the Lakers, plus, even if it was a regular season game(christmas day), you saw how LA couldn't keep up with the speed and ball movement of a FULL Kngs squad. And even when they lost to the Lakers at Arco a week ago, they socred 113 points w/o even having Webber and Bobby Jackson.

I really think the NBA finals THIS year will be the round the Lakers and Kings face, wherever round it ends uo to be.
But like I said all along, the Lakers have that mental edge vs ANY team except Sacramento. Does that mean Sacramento will beat them? No... But if they do, it wont be a upset. They have the best team, PERIOD and they now know they SHOULD beat the Lakers. It doesnt mean they will be cocky, just means that they have grown.

Very good point...I think this year the Kings just aren't scared of LA anymore which is why I would LOVE to see them face off in the Western Conference Finals...I think the only bad thing with that happening though, is that for whichever team loses, the excuses will be pouring in as to why Lakers or Kings lost...especially those Kings fans...lol. j/k But yea, you made a good point and I also believe that the Lakers do not have a mental edge over the Kings. Kings believe they can beat LA, and vise-versa. Man, I can't wait for the playoffs!

I am sure the lakers want to see the kings first round or the mavs. cuz Big Daddy Shaq will be in NBA Shape and you know no1 will stop him. Kobe is just showing right now he's the best player in the NBA, Lakers win their 4th championship this year.

Reason one, playoffs are 5 and 7 game series not just 1 game and done, no1 can stop the big man and the lakers role players are coming around and finally doing what their supposed to do

Actually, as of today, the playoffs are now all 7 game series, including the first round. Just thought you should know...and yea, if Shaq and Kobe stay healthy I think they will be unstopppable...
