I know he has played a full season before, but not at the high level to claim the best 1Guard in the NBA. Both Nash and Kidd can make that claim.

Playing 60 games in a season should not be an accomplishment of a player being considered the best PG in the L. The best PG in the NBA, playing 60 games should be a disapointment. I know Baron is not proud of it, but anyone who says hes healthy has lost there mind. Healthy is playing 90% of the season with maybe minor bumps an bruises, or not being so hurt that you can play through your injuries.

I enjoy watching Baron when hes good and healthy, but I think hes getting all this love because hes the hot-trendy guard of April since he led the Warriors through the drout of missing the playoffs.

If you don't belive me, scroll back through this thread and see how many mentions of Arenas there are. If this was Jan. or Feb. he would be anywhere between 1st-3rd on this list according to the OS faithfull.
He has needed to lose that extra weight for years, and now that he's getting older, it's really hurting him.

It truly is a shame. He had/has the potential to be the best/most exciting PG the league ever saw.

SIDENOTE: I once read in SLAM magazine that he used to do 500 sit ups a day and still could not loose the weight.

So when I post negavite Baron stuff, I don't blame him. He is a good guy who works hard, but just seems cursed and does not belong in the BEST NBA PG conversation (either this year or over his entire body of work).

Yep, coming out of UCLA where he had chronic knee problems, people just always assumed that once he gets to the NBA, he would lose the weight and become healthier. Just hasn't happened that way.

What I was trying to prove is that Baron isn't even recognized as elite by the majority of NBA fans. And Steve Nash was voted into this years all-star game, he was injured though: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007_NB...r_Game#Players.

Nash is probably the best point guard, but it's hard to overlook how much better of a defender Kidd is.

Doing situps won't really help anyone lose weight. In fact wouldn't it help gain weight? He needs to hit the cardio. I don't think anyone can be that cursed that he can't get into the proper shape necessary.
Just wait till Arsenal moves into Emirates Stadium.

I don't think Lamar Odom's celling was ever as high as Baron Davis.

Also lets not forget, while Lamar has had his injuries he is also pretty soft and lazy.

But Baron has always been pretty fearless and nobody can claim Baron is lazy.

Sit ups making you gain weight? maybe. 500 sit ups a day with a regualar NBA conditioning schedule, now that should help you drop the pounds.

Maybe Baron enjoy 2nd's at the dinner table too much, or maybe he did not hit the treadmill enough, but I don't think you can question his 500 sit ups as helping him gain weight.

And re: nobody being that cursed, look up Danny Manning/Penny Hardaway. They were in good shape, but injuires really cursed them. I know this is not the best example, but Penny and Danny were VERY cursed. And Baron should have lost weight a long time ago doing 500 a day with rehab. Sounds kinda cursed to me.

I think Baron Davis is going to change some opinions tonight.

He does every thing a player can do.

Like I said, talent-wise Nash doesn't come close to Baron's total packag.

Handles, Shooting, Rebounding, Passing, defense, and hell even blocks.

You can't blame injury on the guy, injuries are not representative of a guys talent. They happen and you can do nothing about it. Give Baron 3 healthy season and there will be no doubt of how great a player he is.

He may be cursed injury wise, but I was referring to his weight problems. Anyways I don't see what the problem is, he looks fine to me. Today he played an amazing game and is definetely up there when healthy.

How so? Why do people have this huge misconception that Nash is not talented. For futher reference you should read the SI article about him. Sure Nash isn't good defensively, but he is probably a better shooter, passer, and ball handler.
