Re: ***Official 2007 NBA Playoffs Discussion Thread***
These arguments are hilarious. You guys are the same people that were saying that D-Wade got fouled in the finals, yet now you get a taste of your own medicine and you're wining like little babies. One foul call doesn't make up for all of the times that Davis pushes off and reaches in and doesn't get called for fouls. Like someone said, he wouldn't have made a difference in 21 seconds.Fan of....

People just want to complain. Its part of life and sports.
Baron Davis reached in at a moment when most teams are going to try to foul and have to foul. Baron should have been smarter and known that if he even gets close to a foul, its going to be called.Comment

Eh, I don't think so PG... you can't "assume" in that situation if you are the refs. Granted, like I said, if J-Rich took a better shot, it would've been a moot point anyway. But the refs shouldn't have called that one. In such a tight game, you can't assume... you ref, the way you are supposed to ref. Call a foul, don't call things you "assume". There was plenty of time, only being down 1 point. Even being down 3 points, there would still have been time to try and trap.
I don't care either way, it extended the series on out, and I love it. This is one of the most exciting series I've watched.Twitter - WTF_OS

Big controversy is there was no foul. Where they going to foul anyways? Of course, but Baron wouldn't have been the one fouling someone he knew he had 5 fouls. Did it effect the outcome of the game? I don't think so Warriors blew the lead way before that. Did the ref's screw up again? Without a doubt.Comment

Like Brandon said, that call is made 99.9% of the time. I don't see what all the whining is about.NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers

Once again, I say not so on that count to. I can see where you're coming from though. Baron, it's his responsibility to get to the ballhandler, and apply pressure in that situation. He barely touched him... it wasn't the "foul" motion we see guys do when they're commiting a foul and want the ref to see it... he ran up, applied pressure... and was called for a foul, when there was none.
He's paid to play basketball. The refs are paid to make the correct call. In this instance, a no call should have been made. In retrospect, it doesn't matter. The game is over now. I'm just saying, should have never been called. Would it have mattered? Probably not... but it could have. He was the only one really in the area, so he had to rush up and provide ample pressure.
It doesn't matter though. It's over and done w/. Can't wait til the next game. I love watching these two teams battle. Either team can get hot at any moment, and absolutely go off. You don't see many matchups like this in the NBA anymore.
There were quite a few missed calls going both ways last night. I wish, and I know this will never happen, but I wish the NBA could hire officials who did their job, and made less of the outcome of the game rely on them. Not just this series, but overall. The officiating in the NBA, and sports in general, has really declined in the past few years. Let them play, call what should be, and don't "expect or anticipate" any call.
