i wasnt aware that people could only comment about the games their teams are in. That certainly hasnt been the case on this board.

im gonna watch the playoffs regardless of my team being out. Ive got tickets for game 3 and game 4 in San Antonio. Its going to be an entertaining series.

anyway, back to the game. Rebounding was the main factor in the Suns' loss today imo...and if the Suns dont rebound better, they wont beat the Spurs in the series imo.

      And it's a wonder, too.

The Suns lost by five, and that's pretty damn impressive considering our MVP was out for the last minute and a half of this game, Amare didn't convert on his MANY opportunities to score, and our rebounding was terrible. We played like **** today. The Spurs got lucky (as usual)....this game should have been a Spur blowout.

and that is going to kill them. The Suns wont be able to shoot at an insane percentage with the defense that the Spurs play. Phoenix is going to miss more shots than they usually do obviously and they are going to have to rebound to get their fast break going.

exhibit A why run and gun teams have a hard time beating well rounded defensive teams in the playoffs.

It's not like the Suns were playing bad defense.

You should say "rebounding teams", not "defensive teams".

lol isnt that the truth. they need to bring in Angelo Dundee

Nash was cut worse than either of the fighters were last night. DLH and PBF didnt even need cut men.

Defensive teams force more rebounds. The shooting percentages against SA drop quite a bit.

teams have to rebound well against good defensive teams, especially against the Spurs.

Phoenix has had problems in the past against San Antonio for the same reasons as today. Even with Nash in there, Spurs win today's game. Phoenix constantly running the fast break costs them boards and the Spurs don't make many mistakes. That coupled with the defense the Spurs play and the Suns really don't have a chance.

Did you watch the game today? Phoenix couldn't run the break because they weren't getting any rebounds. And Duncan showing just how good he really is, making Stoudamire look like an average center. Only team out there right now that can beat SA is Detroit.

Well that's certainly an impressive argument. I'm convinced.

Well, SA did win the last time they meet in a 7 game series. But then DET is not the same team when they lost Ben Wallace and Larry Brown. This is the new DET now with Webber in thier lineup. Though I don't know if it is an upgrade compared to when Ben was still a Piston.

In some ways it is, in some ways it isn't. Ben is obviously still a better defender than C-Webb (even though Ben gets by on reputation alone now). But the difference on offense is enormous. When Ben was in Detroit, it was basically 4 on 5 at times. Ben was good at setting screens and getting offensive boards, but in those aspects the Pistons really haven't missed a beat without him.

they couldn't beat sa with ben wallace, and webber will get destroyed by the spurs.

plus billups won't destroy tp the way he did in 05.

of the teams that are left i think phoenix, cleveland, and utah have the best chance to beat the spurs.
