OMG, what a horrible decision by the Rockets and specifically, JVG.

You don't get a steal on the inbound-pass and you don't foul?!? What the hell?! T-Mac should've been attacking the basket like mad for the last 6 minutes of the quarter since the Jazz were in the penalty. Heck, the whole Rockets should've been attacking the basket.

Man, what a horrible way to end the game. 0-6 now for T-Mac. I hope he gets stronger and regains that attacking mentality. As much as he helps his team now, he needs be more aggressive to be able to get-over that hump.

      attack attack attack....lol

what about calling a different play for once instead of the PnR at the top of the key where the defense can double team your only playmaker?

      Im glad JVG is gone.

Aggression is not in his nature. Neither is it in Yao's.

I really get the feeling BOTH these guys need to be "the number two" man on a great team.

Neither of them has the "mental edge" to really win the big games. Same with Dirk and KG. Same David Robinson used to be.

These guys need a Mario Elie type in the team. A guy who just gets on their backs and hammers them verbally to get tough.

It's funny here at Op Sports...Kobe loses and it's all on him. T-Mac loses and it's the team and coach.

Come on fellas. The game was tied...2 mins left...you HAVE TO DRIVE THE BALL.

Get into the paint...get to the free throw line...

            Mac didn't do it.

Great season...he's won everyones respect back.

But that's not how superstars need to play the final two minutes.

Jordan...even Wade...they'd have driven non stop.

BTW, Mario is looking for a coaching job.

I dont know anything about that. All year lakers fans proclaimed his teammates suck including Lamar Odom.

And the criticism has been the other way around for years.

Tmac failed, Yao failed, and JVG just lost his job.

Well, I guess if JVG's gone, we'll see more plays. I agree that they run that play way way way way too much. Its way too predictable. T-Mac's too versatile to be doing that all the damn time.

Aggression is not in his nature. Neither is it in Yao's.

Yes, it may not be in his nature but I'd like to see that T-Mac who kept on attacking Dallas back in the '05 playoffs. The T-Mac who took Detroit to the brink of elimination in '03. T-Mac's better now but he settles for jumpers and threes way too much. That has to change.

As for Yao, he just needs to back guys down man. He can make those jumpers and fade-aways but when the guy who's guarding you is smaller and you can shoot over him, why not just actually shoot over him or get closer to the basket? This series was pretty disappointing for Yao.

                      Blame him for BONZI WELLS...WTF!

                      Wells is a HEAD CASE.

He was a head case in Portland...same in Sacramento...he had a great playoffs v the Spurs, yet the whole L ignored him. Why? Because everyone knows he's not mentally 'there'.

                      He is a nutter.

You can't blame JVG. They rolled the dice and it failed. Wells is a nutcase.

This team got to the 4 seed and home court without Wells and WITH JVG.

No more freaking excuses man. The big two didn't get it done down the stretch. End of story.

I am as dissapointed as you...but I'm not going to let that hide reality.

And no one cares. Wells is the type of guy the League will forget soon. Same as Isaih Rider.

No one should pin this on Wells not playing. He deserves all he gets.

JVG was good but clearly, this series exposed how limited his offense is. The one significant change he did was go small during that small-stretch in the 2nd or 3rd and the Rockets had a good run.

Still, the Rockets had a golden-opportunity to close the series out twice. They didn't do it.

And hey, maybe Carlisle could work out for them. He was good in Indiana and Detroit.

Yao will never be an ultra agressive guy.

I don't know why everyone wants JVG gone and thinks that will help Mac.

T-Mac is best suited in a system like this where HE has the ball and HE can drive or dish.

Put him in a system like Utah...where he'd be 1 guy in a 5 man system...and he'd complain he wasn't getting his touches.

Same with Kobe. These guys want the ball non stop. It doesn't work.

Yet I bet neither of them would really accept being in a team oriented offense like Utah. (where both would be insanely good...imagine either of them running as cutters off boozer, or getting fed off screens by Deron)

These guys want the ball...want to carry it...want to shoot it...they don't want to be traditonal SG's being directed by a strong willed PG.

Both would be better off if they were though...IMO.

Yes, and all I want to see is for him to have that attacking attitude back with his game now. He'd be way better than shooting 3's and settling for jumpers most of the time.

And I'm not saying T-Mac hasn't thrived under JVG but JVG runs the same offense all the time. If they're not going to replace JVG, at least get an assistant coach who can give them more plays on offense.
