because MVP is not the same as the best player in the league. If it was, Jordan would probably have 10, and Shaq would have more than 1.

Re: Vote for 2006-7 MVP Here
In my eyes, MVP isn't whos the better player, but who is the most essential to their team. The Suns couldn't be so up tempo fast-paced etc. without him. Jason Kidd is the Best point guard in the league (imo), but Steve has the luck to have a better supporting cast for his style of play.Comment

and that's the problem. Thinking taking 45 shots to score 50 and a worse record than the previous year will get you an MVP.
Is value really in points?
Oh, and I think Mcgrady is a player that folks aren't giving any consideration when its as clear as day.
His team is worse without him than the Suns without Nash.
All in all, I'd say Nash, but he will most likely lose out to Dirk.
I also believe Chris Bosh is the best big-man MVP candidate.Comment

Agree with many of the above posters. It was nice to see T-Mac become healthy and dangerous once again. For the past year and a half he didn't really scare me when they faced the Suns, but once Yao went down, he really stepped it up. The only thing I didn't like was when he claimed that the Rockets are his team and that he has to create for everyone else but that shouldn't have any bearing on the MVP vote.Just wait till Arsenal moves into Emirates Stadium.Comment

Re: Vote for 2006-7 MVP Here
Tmac obviously deserves to be in the top 5, but maybe because he missed so many games, it was left out. Otherwise, I dont see a reason. I'd go with Dirk with Nash a close second.Comment

But its true. Nobody on that team can create their own shot besides Tmac and Yao.
Tmac is responsible for creating shots for all of his teammates because they are nothing more than spot up shooters.
By default he is the leader, especially when you look at their record with him, and without him.Comment
