When did I say he wasn't a leader? Also claiming this is my team doesn't make anyone more or less of a leader. How many leaders in the history of the NBA have to make that kind of claim?
Just wait till Arsenal moves into Emirates Stadium.

Interesting take on the MVP situation by Bill Simmons.

what? You dont know what would happen if Dallas swapped Dirk and Gasol. That is completely hypothetical and worthless in discussion. Dallas DID replace Nash, and they became better. Im not saying losing him was the reason why they got better, but it's interesting that they could get better after losing such an all time great.

the main reason why Dallas has gotten better after letting Nash walk is that Dirk has gotten better after they let Nash walk. Dirk has been the one constant on the Mavs through their rebuilding process and he deserves credit for getting BETTER despite losing basically everything around him.

So, if you aknoweldge that it's just a coincidence that they got better after Nash, due to other progressions, then will you please stop bringing up the fact that Dallas got better after Nash left AS IF IT WAS BECAUSE HE LEFT?!

            Jeez.

Big deal. I like Kobe, but what he did...in the grand scheme of things...meant nothing but to just boost his ego. Because it really didn't do that much for their record.

If you ever decide to look outside of the big dark blue blinding box which seems to be Dallas Maverick Basketball you will realize there is something called varying styles of play...Let me start off by saying I love Dirk's game. I like Pau's game but Dirk is superior. I was doing something called a joke, but your too uptight about your Mavs (i would be too since they are 0-5 to GS) to realize that.

You see the Mavs style, which is now very successful, had alot of defensive short-commings in the Dirk&Nash days (as im sure you knew). So getting JT in Dallas to replace Nash was a good fit there. JT is a better defender than Nash.

But what Dallas never did that Phoenix does right now is a full blown commitment to athletic up-and-down 14 second shot clock basketball. Something that Nash is obviously more suited for than JT. Dallas did pace the league in scoring when Nash was there if I recall, so its obvious that Nash is the premier high octane Offense PG in the NBA.

Dallas tried that style but when the results were not good during the playoffs they tried other things. New personnel and even tried to change its philosophy. But face it, Dallas always seemed to make that quick fix instead of getting that right piece, and that cost them in the Dirk&Nash days. You can't have an identity when you’re brining in A-Walk and Jamison onto the same team.

But PHX they simply have the athletes. Athletes that can play the style that Dallas never had post-season success with. The PHX personnel compared to the Dallas personnel is just a better fit for Nash and his style of play. Nash does a great job with the offense, and the entire team seems to be built to adhere to the PHX style of play. Look at the players they pick up to be major contributors. It has been obvious since they drafted Amare that fast was the direction they were going to, and Nash is the BEST choice for the job bar none.

The Mavs are a great team now, and mainly because they went away from a style that was fun but not suited to there personnel. If you ask me the biggest change was with Avery J take over for Nellie Ball. Avery has made the team very selective and they manage the clock very well and it has worked. That is what makes Dirk a true great. Hes no longer trying to kill you 94 feet, but rather work at you with a multitude of weapons and mismatches. It has almost nothing to do with the PG switch. If Dirk had a choice of any PG , who do... you know I don't even have to put that question out, cause any rational person knows the answer.

Dallas is now a much better team then they were with Nash, but don't give me that cookie-cutter crap that JT comes in and the Mavs are better, so this means JT is every bit as good as Nash.

Face it, your a HUGE homer and your mad. Your mad at Nash for leaving. Your mad at Nash for doing all these great things for another team and not your beloved Mavs. Stop hating. As Pretty Boy Floyd Mayweather says "I hate haters"!

That said; Dirk or Nash I would be happy with either as MVP. And by the way Jason Terry did not make the ballot.
