    Stevie Francis has got to be smiling

    You've got to love the NBA.

    Stevie does nothing for two or three years...

    His punishment? Likely getting $34 MILLION DOLLARS and a chance to play again (in every sense!) with his 'best friend' Cat Mobley.

    Good luck to him...imagine a job where you get sacked and told you're not wanted and "here's 34 million to do nothing"...

    Moving to bolster the team at point guard, the Clippers are pursuing three-time All-Star Steve Francis, who could become a free agent this week, league and team sources said Sunday.

    The Portland Trail Blazers , who acquired the eight-year veteran Thursday, are expected to buy out the final two years and $34.25 million of Francis' contract, freeing him to agree to terms elsewhere after he clears waivers. Teams cannot sign players until July 11.

    General Manager Elgin Baylor and Coach Mike Dunleavy are also interested in Jason Hart, who joined the team late last season, and Brevin Knight, but Francis is potentially the team's highest-profile option.

      Why exactly did Portland do that trade? Just to payoff his contract?

      So it was basically straight up Channing Frye for Zach Randolph?

              They're trying to get rid of the Jailblazers label they've had for a few years. I wouldn't be suprised to see Darius Miles gone soon.

                              No, I think that is pretty much what happened. There are a lot of fans, especially younger ones(under 25) who are just looking at the 20/10 part of a player like Zach and really don't see how detrimental he can be to the whole culture of an organization.

                                  I'm really surprised someone was willing to take him but I guess that's how bad Portland wanted Randolph off the team.

                                              "I think Portland GM Kevin Pritchard spent an hour thinking about it and decided, "You know what? Just to be safe, maybe it's best that Oden and Randolph never, ever, ever meet. Call Isiah and tell him we say yes to the crappy Francis-Frye offer. We can't mess around."

                                                      Why would he go back to Houston? I could understand if Mobley was still there, but he's not and doesnt still have bad feelings about being traded to Orlando?
