    Kobe Ties MJ's Record

9 straight games with 40 or more...I'll even admit it that Kobe WAS trying to get 40...and well he did. I don't care. I'm glad he's trying to break the record...his team is winning in the process so why not. Anyway, just thought I'd let ya know. he scored his 40th and 41st points at the freethrow line with 23 seconds left...game in't over yet though. Seattle is down by 7.

Well, good for him. Although watching him force shots at the end of games has really made my hate for him grow.

^ I agree...if Kobe was going to score 40 and the Lakers lost, I would be pissed. But Kobe instead tied the record, AND got the win...so it's all good.

force shots? didn't you guys EVER watch Jordan? for god sakes... when he was 24 he forced half of his shots.... geez.

i'm not hatin on jordan.... he forced a HELLUVA lot of shots. he doesn't anymore cuz he's a smarter, albeit much slower and different player, but come on...

a forced Kobe Bryant shot is as good as most player's open shot...

BTW -- in the past 13 games... you know, that big streak where Kobe is over 35.... THE LAKERS ARE 11-2...

get off his back. he can force shots all day. the NBA is about 1-on-1 play, and nobody does it better than Bryant these days.

                    11-2...

                        Someone tell Kobe that.

His antics in that game were disgraceful and it shows what kind of player Kobe is becoming. Statistical acheivements are more important to him than winning.

                            Kobe's line:

                            13-34
                            41 pts
                            5 assists
                            3 rebounds

AND YOU GUYS HAVE THE AUDACITY TO SAY THAT KOBE ISN'T SHOOTING FOR THE RECORD!!!!!!! YOU GUYS HAVE THE BALLS TO SAY HE ISN'T TRYING TO PAD HIS STATS!!!! Shame on you guys for even comparing Kobe to McGrady, let alone Jordan. McGrady's line:

                            16-27
                            46 pts
                            10 assists
                            13 rebounds

No comparison. And don't just give me that one game excuse. Kobe has been pumping up shots every game to break this record. Kobe may break the record but look what he has to do to do it. He is making himself look bad in the process. Everyone now knows he is not a team player. A great individual talent - yes. But a very, VERY BIG EGO! And shame on Phil Jackson for allowing Kobe to do this.
