    Re: To All Mavericks Haters

I had to jump in on this one. The Mavs are a great team, I just dont see them taking it all the way. For all the talent the mavs have they still lack the most important feature for a championship caliber team and that is a low post presence. So come playoff time, we will see how Dallas fair against the Spurs, Lakers and yes even the Blazers. All teams with serious low post presence.

First off The kings would beat the mavs in a seven game series, Mavs are soft just look at them, can't play defense. They won't get out the first round of the playoffs lakers will beat them

I dont think there are any Maverick Haters....You cant have haters unless you're on top... And we all know the Mavs arent on top.... They've done nothing to prove they are.. The Spurs have won it all.... The Kings should be winning it all soon, if not this year, then next year...and we know about the lakers...

The Mavs are not being hated on...

No ones running around hating on the Grizzlies.

                Re: To All Mavericks Haters

Well fellas, I am a Mavericks fan living in Dallas. Honestly, I don't think we will win the NBA Championship this year. We're just not ready yet. I'm concerned with the way Nellie has built this team. We have NO low post presence. Nobody wants to get in there and rebound other than Dirk. They have to really focus on the defensive end to be successful, it's not a little bit natural.

The Mavs continually struggle once they get a lead. After getting a big lead, they start coming down and taking quick shots, it they go in...fine, if not, that's when they get in trouble and let teams back in it. If their shots are falling, they're the most explosive team in the league. The thing that concerns me is the playoffs. I'm not worried about the first round, they'll probably breeze right through that. When the 2nd round hits, and their legs are starting to get tired, their shooting percentages from the perimeter are going to decrease and they have no inside presence to run the offense through. That's going to spell trouble. I don't like the way this team is built. We've paid big money to Eshmeyer and LaFrentz and get nothing out of them. Najera has brought an energy to the team. He and Raja Bell have been great role players and that's all we need because we don't need anything from the offensively, all we need is defense and anything on offense is a bonus.

Last Thursday's win against San Antonio was huge for the Mavs followed by a win at Houston. This Thursday's game at home against Sacremento is HUGE! They have to win, there's no other way to put it. They have to win this game.

Again, I'm a huge Mavs fan, but I'm not a homer like the person that started this thread appears to be. He's not being realistic. Our team is not currently built to make it all the way to the finals. I think we can make it to the Western Conference Finals but I think Sac has more weapons than we have right now. I will tell you this, if we can get ANYTHING out of Bradley and at least a double-double from LaFrentz,we can be unstoppable.

Laker fans should be concerned that Kobe is carrying that team so much. Will he have enough in the tank come playoff time. He should, he's a young guy!

Didn't get to read thru this all. I just wanted to chip in. The Mavs are a great team, and too many people are underrating them. I personally think that they are definitely one of the best out there. I think what catches most people's eye is that they can't seem to beat the best out there. They have lost to the Lakers, the Kings, San Antonio. All in the regular season. And you know when the playoffs come around, those other teams turn it up and really clamp down on the D.

You never know though. The Mavs could surprise everyone. Nellie is great at doing that. And he has all the tools to get it done. Great team down there. It's all about Cali and Texas this year, and for years to come.

im still hearing the same old talk about layup drills and defense. I understand what you guys are saying, but saying the mavs WONT win the championship is ignorant. You dont have the best record in the league for nothing. And yes, they have lost to the top tier teams this season, but have recently beat the spurs and held duncan to 3-10?? and they stopped their streak too. 3-10?? shooting i dont remember but, they totally took him off his game. THen the rockets, they bloodied Francis' nose. I think since najera has come back, they have been more aggressive on defense. Not to mention Raja bell has been more than I had hoped for. He is like Aaron Mckie is to the 76ers a good defensive player which makes the rest of the team a good defensive squad as a whole...i see that everyone keeps counting out the mavs saying they wont win it all, but the lakers, kings, or spurs may win it all?! how can you count out the team with the best record? and since everyone is talkin about the regular season games we have lost, it's kind of ironic when the spurs, kings, laker fans, lose, they tell everyone regular season is nothing, only the playoffs count. However when the mavs lose a regular season game, they all of sudden cant win a title? oh well, I guess we'll just have to wait and see..

Ya, don't worry, I think they'll pose a threat this post-season. It just depends on who they match up with. That's why the playoffs are so exciting. Matchups and execution and just great bball. Teams tighten up, and anything is possible.
