I don't know if he can play in an uptempo pace. He needs a good passing big man who commands a double in the post. He will have to be a spot player in the pros with his coach putting him when the right matchup is present. Even if you stick him in a zone he's liable to get caught on a wing with someone who can beat every which way.

Re: Can we close the book on JJ Redick?
The book was closed the day he and the dookies faced Garrett Temple and LSU... Garrett Temple = 6'5", long and athletic... In other words, the kind of player he'd face every night in the NBA. I won't kill him too bad, though, because with his shooting, he has to be in the perfect situation in order to flourish... A place like Utah or San Antonio would be ideal for him in the halfcourt set. But he's not gonna be a starter, I don't believe... In college he had the benefit of the rat running him through a zillion screens to free him up. The best offense he has besides the jimmy is pump-faking his defender in the air and getting to the line where he can shoot FTs at a 90%+ clip.Comment
