How Good Can Derrick Rose Be?

I was wondering what you guys think of D-Rose's pro potential as a player. I thought this would be a good thread.

A slightly better version of Gary Payton. Wish he would stay another year though.

That's saying alot though. Can he play in the post better than GP? There aren't many guards that ever have.

If the Knicks don't get Beasley, then I want Rose.

I don't think so. That and his on the ball defense seperated GP from other PG's. Rose's explosiveness, however is unparralled at the PG position even now, so I think eventually it will even out.

I also think it's possible that a team would try to stick Rose at the 2 ala D-Wade. I would hate to see that, because I think PG's need to get experience early.

True enough but GP's post game was apart of his attack on the offensive end. How many point guards in the league do that consistently even now?

Uhh I don't see GP in Rose that much.. I think he's more of a Wade type player except with more PG instincts.

I'm not going to compare him to any other player, but with Nash and Kidd getting up there I think his physical gifts alone will make him a top 3 PG in the league in 3 years. If he adds range and consistency to his jumper he can be the best before he's even 23.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

I'm not buying into the hype quite yet.

I don't know... I could see it. I knew just by watching Chris Paul at Wake that he'd be one of the best PGs in the league. Didn't take him long to reach that level.
