Selfish Players

On the court who do you think is the NBA's most selfish player and why?

I would go with Kobe (read Phil Jackson's book). I have never seen a player try so hard to be the focal point in every single game often to the detriment of the team.

I know Kobe is obvious but does anyone else got some players that drive you crazy with selfish play? Allen Iverson is another guy who loves to win but often hurts his team (One of my favorite players but I call it like I see it).

Some guys get bad raps for being selfish like scoring point guards. Baron Davis a selfish player? He takes stupid shots but he never seems to be in a me against the world mode. Gil Arenas? Mo Williams? Stephon Marbury?

Curry & Z-Bo might be the worst black hole combination in league history. Jamal Crawford and Gil are bad as well, but Kobe is still the king.

Marbury is probably the most misconstrued "selfish" player. He's selfish in terms of being a baby, going into a shell, not hustling at times but I wouldn't describe his actual game as selfish, just his attitude.

This man wanted a triple double, so he made an attempt to shoot the ball at the other basket just so he could grab the rebound, but he got fouled...LOL

I don't think any team he's played for ever had a winning record. He did go to the playoffs though w/ the Celtics, but their record was terrible.

Outside of the Finals, Kobe wasn't anywhere near the blackhole some of you guys are making him out to be. Don't be such simps and only remember his days before the past few years. It's fairly obvious you guys don't pay close enough attention during the entire season.

Past few years? I think you mean the past year. His pre-season whine-fest and all the trade me brouhaha didn't lessen the selfish stigma.


Anyways, Kobe. Yeah it's the obvious answer, but it's true.


Ricky Davis is a selfish mofo too, that's definitely one guy i would hate to have on my team. Stephon Marbury is (or at the very least, was) up there too.

Just my opinion, but I thought he had his fair share of selfish moments in the Olympics. Some terrible, terrible shot selection in given situations where he could have helped get the team a much better shot.
