There were no less than 1 billion Denver/Detroit trade discussions this off season.

No, we'll be seeing the team-oriented Iverson that shot 46%, mostly on tough looks, still scores 25+ PPG, and averaged over 7 APG. I think this is a solid "win now" move from the Pistons, who are likely re-tooling after next season regardless. I think that if AI believes they have a chance to win in 2010 (assuming they don't this year), he'll take a major pay cut to re-sign and try to get a ring. If not, the Pistons can just let him walk and rebuild after Sheed's contract comes off the books. It's a good move for the Pistons, more of a confusing move for the Nuggets, who were supposedly in salary-cutting mode for the big FA classes coming up... now they take on a contract that expires at the end of '10-'11? The Nugs front office with another confusing move... the timing and the long-term part is confusing anyway.. basketball-wise, it fits our immediate need.

And yeah, anyone who thinks AI is coming off the bench is crazy. You never bring a guy like that off the bench -- he thrives on playing 40+ MPG, and that simply doesn't happen if you're lower on the depth chart. He's not Manu. It'll be AI/Rip/Prince/Amir/Sheed with Stuckey continuing in his 6th man role. When he's in the game, AI will slide to the 2.

Im not surprise I remember the deal was discuss last season,but it never fell through. This is a crazy move though.

I'm pretty "meh" on this.

McDyess deserved so much better during his time in Detroit. He deserved more than having to play with a team with no heart and a coach with no balls.

Most involved Melo though, didn't they? That trade would benefit Detroit a lot more than AI.

najera, camby.....camby ok but he hasnt played yet, nene is back and healthy and anderson, balkman not great talent but can contribute...IMO they are better than the blazers who most people have making the playoffs instead of DEN
