No, you're not telling the truth. Garnett is a PF who guards the opposing teams PF. Plain and simple. On a given night it may or may not be the opposing team's best big man. And you are forgetting that Perkins is also a great defender, so there is no need to shift Garnett over to guard the C when the C is the opposing team's best big man.

And if you watched the C's, you would see that Garnett does in fact play the post. He happens to be an excellent face-up shooter, too, and it seems like you want to penalize him for being a great jump shooter.

I don't think Garnett is the best player in the NBA, but he is definitely top 5.

I don't think Kevin Garnett is in the top 5 anymore. He is one of the best PF in the league, but not one of the best players overall. I'm sure any basketball purist would agree with this list:

      1. LeBron James
      2. Chris Paul
      3. Kobe Bryant
      4. Dwayne Wade
      5. Tim Duncan

I like that list, but not in that order. I haven't seen any evidence that CP3 is *better* than Wade. He's playing great ball, but so is Wade. Can't really ask more of Wade than what he is doing right now. KG and Kobe are both hard to judge because their teams are so dominant that they don't have to put up numbers right now. They can kind of coast along and win big. When Cleveland is playing mediocre teams, they see the same thing. Lebron's numbers came down to earth because of it.

CP3 and Wade are both having phenomenal seasons so far. What makes CP3 better than Wade is that CP3 is a catalyst on offense. Not only is he the best PG in the league, but he also makes all of his teammates play that much better. Let's not forget that CP3 is also one hell of defender, too. There isn't a player in the league right now that controls the flow of the game from every aspect as well as CP3 does. Let's not forget that CP3 is also more durable than Wade. If you were to build a franchise around one player, most certainly CP3 would be the best choice besides LeBron.

That's easy to say now that Wade is on a crappy team, but Wade has already proved himself as a championship level player on every level, and he's having a phenomenal year. As far as the role of shooting guard goes, I don't think you can ask more of Wade. If you traded Miami's back court for New Orleans' backcourt, I'm not sure how much dropoff you'd see in NO, or how much improvement you'd see in Miami.

Then he must be absolutely the best trash ever. You're telling me at 27 ppg and 10 rpg while shooting above 50% from the feild and above 80% from the line for a big man is trash? The guy has been probably the best big man so far this year. Before you say "but his team sucks" or "his defense is lacking" you have to keep in mind that a big man can only do so much for the winning percentage of a team. If you can't get him the ball enough, he's not going to be able to help you enough. Secondly, his defense is fine, he's not spectacular by any means but he plays fine defense. While I would say that the list should be closer to

                  LeBron
                  Kobe
                  Wade
                  Bosh/Paul

there's no reason he shouldn't be mentioned up there with the most elite of the league.

Re: Who is the overall best player in the NBA this season?

Now Devin Harris is lighting it up too. Like I said changing on a weekly,if not daily basis.
                    Today I'd go...

                    Kobe
                    Wade
                    LBJ
                    Bosh
                    Paul/Harris

Bosh is 5th in rebounds,3rd in scoring and has a better FG% and FT% than both Lebron and Wade and I believe it's 11 (maybe 12 or 13 even?) double-doubles in 16 games so I wouldn't be calling that trash.

Like I said...Stats do not mean crap when you are on a bad-low mid level team.

That's a pretty lame argument, especially in a discussion like this. The question is best PLAYER, not best TEAM. It's not Bosh's fault that he has a horrible coach and inconsistent, injury-prone team mates who don't show up for big games.

Bosh has been playing as well as anyone in the league so far.

You did not get my statement. Good players on bad-ok teams look great. Guys like Kevin Martin, Nate Robinson, Salmons, Zach Randolph (Portland), Rondo ect. ect.

IMO Bosh is too good to be listed with those players because he still would be pretty good on another team. Do not get me wrong...I think Bosh is good...But not top5 good. It's just my opinion so dont take it personal.

Obviously the Celtics are a exception because they have Pierce, RayRay, and KG on they're team. Any PG in the NBA could be good with that lineup.
