Re: Anthony Randolph
"leaps and bounds" better is quite the revisionist history
just pulling this out of thin air... i dunno because i actually watch the warriors.
but if randolph played as many minutes as those guys did in thier second year at age 20 hed be averaging
18/7 ... which is right along the same amount.
but for internal selfish reasons he does not get to play even 36 minutes per game.
so again...its not like he sucks...and this is on him...far from the case.
so i ask you to think before typing...or atleast educate yourself by watching him play and being versed in the situation of this ****ty franchise, other than the dribble of information you get via espn or RealGM bulletins.
I don't give a damn about what he could average if he played that many minutes. The facts is he doesn't play that much and he won't play that much. There is reasons why some guys play 20 minutes a night and others play 35.
FYI I never said he sucked. He is a very young and very raw player who will take some time to become a star if he ever does. Saying that KG didn't do much more than him at the same time is just flat out foolish. Especially when one was an all star and one is a backup to a scrub on a horrible team.Last edited by PrettyT11; 12-16-2009, 07:30 PM.Comment

Re: Anthony Randolph
Agent: Randolph not against trade Executives mentioned New York and Houston as clubs that have interest in Randolph, but he will not be easy to move because of the great disparity between his small salary ($1.8 million) and his perceived upside. The most likely trade scenario would include Randolph as part of a larger deal that featured a more accomplished player.Comment

Re: Anthony Randolph
Yet another reason why this is the worst organization in the NBA hands down. Clippers? No. Nets? No. Warriors. From top to bottom the worst front office personnel around. Sneaky, dishonest and don't care if you know it either. A team in constant rebuilding mode. I'm embarrassed to even say I'm a fan of the team. Dump a 20 year old because Nelson doesnt like him? Sounds a lot like another former Warrior and future Hall of Famer Chris Webber. He is doing it again. And whoever they get in return wont even be a factor long enough for it to effect Nelson because he will be retired and long gone in Hawaii by then. Way to go Warriors.Comment

Re: Anthony Randolph
Ummm I would say the fact that Garnett was an All Star his second year in the league and Rondolph is the backup to and getting less minutes than Vladimir Radmanovic would be past leaps and bounds. Thats not revisionist history that is facts. KG was an all star at 20 Randolph might make the rookie and sophmore game. KG was one of the leaders on a playoff team his second year in the league. The Warriors might win 30 games and Randolph is on the trading block. Again leaps and bounds difference. Vlad would have never been playing over KG no matter the coach or the system. I don't get it. You said it yourself that the reason Randolph isn't getting major minutes is cause of the constant mistakes he makes on the court.

Re: Anthony Randolph
Remember them days? When Gugliotta was supposed to be Webbers "replacement". Not much has changed. Outside of '07, them days are still going on. If Nelson really wants someone, he makes it known kinda like he did when they tried to trade Curry for Stoudamire a few days after the draft but he said no. Nelson doesn't like strong personalities and especially in young guys. You cant get better if the team makes rash decisions and moves players the coach has personal issues with.Last edited by iLLmatic; 12-17-2009, 02:36 PM.Comment

I know you love the kid and all and but that is just going way too far. I don't even think you honestly believe such a horribly wrong statement as that.Last edited by PrettyT11; 12-16-2009, 09:42 PM.Comment

Re: Anthony Randolph
Dear Anthony,
A move away from the chaos and confusion of the Warriors organization is a blessing in disguise. But you'll be ok. Trust me. Work hard and use this old fools stubbornness as motivation to prove him wrong. Truth is, he never liked you. Mullin did, and you see where he is now. Nelson is an old fashioned guy who is the most overrated coach in the past 25 years. He has no rings as a coach, yet he is trying to get the wins record. If you haven't won a title, what have you won? Yeah, I'm confused too. I always tend to think that if players, like myself, are judged by how many titles you won or didnt win as a player, shouldn't it mean the same for coaches? At least Jerry Sloan has GOTTEN to the NBA Finals as a coach. None for Nelson though, yet he walks around as if he is some coaching guru or something. I know. What an idiot. But even though he has nothing to show for all those wins, people still drink the Kool Aid. Hit the gym and work on your game and everything else will fall into place. Trust me. 15 years ago, I was you.
Thankful to have been traded,

Re: Anthony Randolph
Right on PT11. I remember the Webber fiasco and this smells like it all over again. Mind you, after he traded Webber, Nelson was gone less than 1 year later. And is it only coincidental that he is once again about to possibly move another young guy with a decent upside, with his possible retirement or departure in the next year or so. Nelson is a fraud. He is snake oil salesman. I wouldn't trust him to walk my dog.Comment

Re: Anthony Randolph
Randolph has some ability, but seems to be missing the mental part of "it". Whether that's poise, control, or focus, I dunno. Maybe all three. JJ Hickson is missing it too. Randolph will never be able to develop those intangibles with the inconsistent playing time he gets, and you can see it in his demeanor and body language. Every time I see Randolph he looks like he's frustrated. Or constipated. Either way, he's just got to settle down, and I don't think he'll really come into his own until he feels comfortable somewhere...and that somewhere definitely isn't G-State.
I expect his career to end up along the lines of a Hakim Warrick-type myself, but his situation reminds me alot of Gerald Wallace in Sacto, another guy who played way too fast early on. Wallace blew up once he was given an opoortunity to go out there and figure things out. Not having to looking over at the bench every time he made a mistake slowed his game down quite a bit.Last edited by HMcCoy; 12-17-2009, 02:03 AM.Hank's Custom Collectibles 3D printer/painter extraordinaireComment
