Re: "RealGM" top 100 NBA player of all time list
His post moves are the greatest of all time and it isn't close. He could shoot hooks with either hand and with accuracy. Accurate mid range shooter. Almost 80 percent from the line. One of the greatest rebounders of all time due to his exceptional hands. Would go straight up after snatching an offensive rebound. When the game was one the line McHale was at his best and he was entrusted to take many critical shots (which he made). He was a great shot blocker and he was strong enough to move the best post scorers out of the paint. Unfortunately, he played with an all time great in Larry Bird.Comment

Re: "RealGM" top 100 NBA player of all time list
Patrick Ewing: One of the biggest chokers of all time. If you could turn and face on him then you would wind up with a clean look. His selfishness was legendary. He was a jump shooting center. He had no idea what the game was really about. (winning if you didn't know, which you should) His shooting percentage would drop as the game progressed. Here is an infamous Ewing story: When visiting terminally ill children at the hopital he was asked to sign a few autographs to lift the kids' spirits. Patrick declined because "he doesn't sign autographs on gamedays". LOSER.
David Robinson: One of the most overrated players of his generation. He may have been a great shot blocker but he was merely an average on ball defender. He was a turnover machine. Was infamous for missing clutch free throws in the playoffs (pre Duncan era). Played with no passion and was not willing to bang with other bigs on a consistent basis. Most importantly, he never won squat until Tim Duncan came aboard. But hey, he was smart, stayed out of trouble, was a nice guy, and he had great stats. He fooled the media big time. The truth is, he was always good and far from great. Certainly not Hall of Fame worthy.
Karl Malone: In clutch time, Malone would miss free throws and take poor shots. For instance, instead of pounding into the lane he would spin baseline and hoist up a low percentage fall a way. Demonstrated poor lateral movement. Would gamble by swiping at the ball (often failing) which would leave him off balance and would place the onus on his teammates to bail him out. Was a me player who adored himself (often flexing his muscles). Stockton was the true Hall of Famer on the Jazz and his genius is what turned Malone into a Hall of Famer. He was nothing more than a good player.
Pete Maravich: THE worst defender of all time. Made flashy passes when simple ones were in order. Ballhog whose teammates couldn't stand playing with him. Useless in the clutch.
Siney Moncrief: A two time Defensive Player of the Year. Made the all defensive 1st or 2nd team five times. Did I mention he was a very good scorer? He could get his shot off against any defender, he could run like a cougar, pass the ball effectively, and rebound as well as anyone at his position. He was the very definition of an all around player. Obviously defense isn't very sexy for you fantasy ballers out there.<!-- / message --><!-- edit note -->Last edited by AlexBrady; 03-12-2009, 01:52 PM.Comment
