I know people who were there...some of these other stories have come out from eyewitnesses to be exaggerations, I imagine this "racial" crap is as well.

Well, I believe that Chauncy and maybe K-Mart said the same thing.

I just find no reason to believe that Karl would be lying. I mean, it's not THAT hard to believe that a drunk fan was shouting out racial slurs at the players. That could happen anywhere in America, but still doesn't make it right.

I guess the linguistic stuff, the self-indentification stuff, and the Confederacy stuff has no bearing whatsoever then... fine with me. Also, (read, man.. jeez) the part you quoted specifically says that because of the differences in the various regions, it's not proper to classify Texas as a region of its own, which is exactly what you did after quoting it... yeah.

Anyway, this is getting stupid.. you can say Texas isn't part of the South all you want, but the rest of the country will continue to classify it as such, as evidenced by everyone who is not from Texas calling it part of the South as well as the various maps and documents we're provided saying the same thing.

simply classifying it as "the south" is wrong, just as classifying it as simply "the west" would be wrong. It is a little of both, but mainly Texas is just Texas. It is a region in and of itself

LOL. So an article on CNN makes Texas racist? I've lived here for 15 years and have NEVER seen ONE person flat out be racist towards another.

This is really a pointless thread/argument anyways. We all know that Cuban was wrong, but had K-Mart not acted like a hard-*** with his response I highly doubt anything would have been said/done towards his mother. If he had taken the high road this would have blown over and nothing would have happened. Cuban said something stupid, but he didn't call her anything. It's not like Martin has never said something to an opposing team's fan, so he should have just shrugged it off.

Even the Nugget players think that of Karl. The timeouts crack me up because not one player even looks at him or listens when he's talking. lol. They only listen to Chauncey.

Agreed cubsfan, this whole situation was unnecessary and started by a guy who needs to learn to be an owner, not a fan who happens to have his own team and arena... They need to make sure he's not able to get onto the court in the future if he can't control himself.. it's just ridiculous that any of this even happened.

Everyone involved (yes, including Dallas fans) reacted badly and it was an embarrassing distraction from what was a well-played series featuring two of the game's stars playing at a supremely high level. Glad nothing continued this in Denver and the game went off without a hitch.
