How many 7-footers in NBA history can you name that average 26 points and 12 rebounds and shoot 49 percent from the field, 47 percent on 3-pointers, and 91 percent from the line?

That's what Dirk's done IN THE PLAYOFFS!! He's hit 30 points six times, and 40 twice. He's also recorded 20 rebounds twice in the playoffs.

AI's a ball hog. How many 7-for-30s do you have to suffer through?

I’ll say it again, he ain’t squat without, Finley and/or Nash. At least AI got his team to the finals without a reliable scorer. Dirk has two others, and still can’t get there, so how good is he really?? And of course he would avg. at least 10rebs. a game, he’s 7’0”!!! If you are that tall and can’t rebound, you put shame to your profession. He only shoots that high because people have to worry about Nash and Finley. When Finley was out his shooting percentage was nowhere near that, and Nash became a non factor, so give me another reason of why he’s so good??? Iverson shoots bad at times but he still is right there in fg% with Kobe, Bibby, Mash, and Payton. Its funny how you could call AI a ball hog when averages more asst then you starting point Nash. Check the stats.

    And you were saying???

Ok playoff avg's AI averaged 7.4 APG Nash is averaging 7.3! .1 difference? that doesnt say much, Look at the regular season stats though. AI had 5.5 apg(18th overall in the league) Nash had 7.3(8th overall) Bottom line AI doesnt average more assits than Nash.

I dont see how you can say Dirk isnt squat without nash or finely, this is just untrue. He is a matchup nightmare. He takes big guys out to the perimeter and drains shots, if a smaller man is switched to him he takes them inside for that devestating fade away. I really think he needs to work on his post up game more but right now his game is pretty tight. He is more than capable of scoring 1 on 1 and if anything Nash and Finley are benefiting more from Dirk than he is from them. I dont recall teams double teaming Nash or Finley much if at all. Saying he isnt squat without Nash/Finley is like saying Kobe isnt squat without Shaq...I mean its all speculation, no way to really prove it but opinions are opinions. As much as you may not want to admit it, Dirk is the premier player in Dallas.

Back to AI again, he shot 41% this year(ouch) from the field and i'll say about 28% from the arc. Kobe shot 45%, 38% from the land of 3, Bibby Shot 47% from the field and 40% from 3, Mash shot 42% from the field, 38% from 3, Payton shot 45% from the field, 30% from 3........with the exception of Mash(who i dont really consider a star and still had a higher % than AI) Those guys shot way better than AI so how do you figure he was "right there" with them fg% wise????

true, but you cant just say he avg's more assists than Nash.

Shaq should of got every vote.

All the players above, can have those games where they dont shoot well, and don't put up 1/2 of their averages, but Shaq, always dominates, and you cant stop him.

You are right that Dallas would win in the east and philly might struggle to make the playoffs. However look at the players on Nashs team compared to AI's. There is absolutely no comparison. Nash has got Nowitzki, Finley, and Van Exel. AI has got big bad Keith Van Horn. If you replace Nash with Ai the sixers dont make the playoffs. Nash is a good player but he is not on AIs level. Nash also has better teammates and thats why he gets more assists. If AI had Nashs team he would be getting at least 10 assists a game.

Um you are so wrong it's not funny, put the Mavs in the east and they'd go to the finals every yera bud, and NOONE can argue that!! The sixers please they would have a hard time MAKING the playoffs if they were in the west, get it straight!! Oh P.S. the reason Iverson gets more assists is that he plays 10 more mins a game and the sixers DO NOT swing the ball like the Mavs, if they did swing it more Iversons assists would go down, and I didn't even mention that Nash shares time with a All Star caliber PG in Van Exel.
