Hmm. First off, I don't think many teams have a player who matches up with Rashard. That's why he has a huge contract. Secondly, I don't see why people keep mentioning his name. It's not like he had an amazing series. If anyone went ape, it was Dwight.

I'm not saying I'm more insightful than the sports analyst world, but it's funny how people take an idea and run with it. Those ideas being: Shaq can't defend the Pick and Roll, therefore Cavs got worse. That's asinine. Having Z come off the bench + Shaq's impact is way larger than that.

Secondly, the one great team in the league that has a player the Cavs (or no one else, for that matter) can't match up with is Orlando. They won last year, so people think they will automatically do it again. I promise you that even though Rashard is a stud, the fact that there is no help needed on Dwight will automatically change the Magic's 3 point shooting (which is what, along with Dwight's domination, beat the Cavs last year. Also, BARELY beat them.)

We'll see what happens, though. I'm sticking to my story until I'm proven wrong, and I won't be proven wrong until the Cavs get knocked out of the playoffs either before they face Orlando or by Orlando.

It's really not all that hard to get somebody that can defend him. You just need a tall, lanky guy that can move his feet decently, and that's the major reason for the Cavs failure last year.

Lebron couldn't guard both Hedo and Rashard, he could only guard one, and the other one killed them. That, and the fact that Mo Williams choked in the post-season are the two major reasons that the Cavs lost.

Well, which one of those guys was available for the Cavs to pick up without losing anything? I'm not saying nobody can guard him, but I'm saying he's by default a tough matchup...

Interesting point: You said they should have got an athletic 4, then you mentioned LeBron can't guard both Shard n Hedo. Why not put LeBron on Rashard? Shaq, Bron, Parker, Delonte, Mo.

But I still believe that Dwight going 40 on 20 shots twice was a huge factor. And nobody said he'd shut down Dwight, but it's hard to imagine he's getting 40 on Shaq...

Like I said, time will tell.

It would definitely be easier to put LeBron on Rashard this year since they don't have Hedo, but I don't really like a Delonte on Vince matchup very much.

Haha, that was me. I did a blog in my NBA 2K8 and 2K9 leagues as Oleksiy and stuff... the 2K8 in-game model of Pecherov rocks my world.. it's perfect.
