    LBJ is loyal, he's a kid...it's cute(no homo)

But Mike Brown is in over his head. He has the most talented athlete alive right now and he has no coaching pedigree. His strategy sucks and he can't figure out an offense to run with Shaq. Did you see the first two Cav games? No body moves, just stand there and watch lebron.

    Mike Brown sucks.

Jokes aside though, Brown does appear to be over his head this year. Losing Keuster and having to draw up a new offense based on new starters, and at the same time finding a way to cover Shaq's utter lack of defense is a tall order. Still to early to make assumptions though...If we don't win big, it won't be becaue of Shaqs 25 minutes of mediocre defense.

The Cavs defensive FG% is 44% in those losses...nothing to panic about. Its the ~40% that the Cavs are shooting that has me worried...
Mac...I feel for Brown as he's a hell of a good defensive coach. It's like they are trying to please LBJ more than the coach. Ben Wallace played some great D pre injury last season before he was injured. It looked obvious that they needed an athletic swingman or an athletic PF / C...not a 38 year old who's the worst P n R defender in the L.

It's a hard situation as everyone knows the Cavs are doing all they can to pamper LBJ and give him whatever he wants. I am not naive enough to not know why. I am old school enough though to still believe that the coach should run a basketball team and get what he wants. Not the star. I know that's not how the NBA works though. Hope your Mrs is feeling better mate

I agree. For the 2nd night in a row he marched out that lineup with Shaq & Z on the floor. The funny thing I is texted a friend "the first coach that should be fired this year..."

His reply "Mike Brown and I said the same thing to someone else this morning".

It's so funny watching that. Sadly the Knicks may have a better defensive front court than the Cavs when those two are in at the same time. Ok, maybe not.

Mike Brown and Danny Ferry GOT TO GO!! Forget James being pampered and get someone in there that can work with that team and create miracles cause they're on the verge of missing the playoffs. The East is solid this year and the Cavs are starting off bad. I'm not even a solid fan of the Cavs but I'd hate to see LBJ miss this early already after so many great post-seasons.

i said this over the summer, and I'll say it agian now.

I dont see how they got any better, and they may have possibly gone backward.

This team has two plodding big men, who will be liabilities on the defensive end.

Shaq does not demand consistant double team respect anymore, and you have a bunch of shooters who cannot create their own shots efficiently.

Lebron's brilliance has masked the coaching and front office sins of this orginization so far, and he may have to average 30-8-8 for the season, as well as win DPOY to mask them again.

Well to be fair, Delonte West can create his own shot efficiently but is not back to playing yet.

At any rate, I totally agree with everyone who pointed out the Cavaliers problems defending against pick & roll plays. They may miss Joe Smith more than they initially thought because as of now Anderson Varejao is the only big man on their roster who is a capable P&R defender. They need to play J.J. Hickson more so to try get him up to speed on their defensive schemes. Hickson may be too raw on offense to get much playing time, but the Cavs desperately need his athleticism on the defensive end.

He won't do it because it wears down his vitality. The last time he was there as the Memphis Grizzlies' coach, he looked like a crypt keeper. He looked horrible. Brown has been living off of Lebron's great play and improvement. These organizations need to get away from the Spur tree and find their own mix to put into the organization or it will become a bottom feeder sooner than they realize.

Well at this point Charlie Brown would make a better head coach than Mike Brown.

Mike Brown? Absolutely, the guy doesn't know anything about offense.

Ferry took a team who was the worst team in the NBA without LeBron and to a pretty good surrounding cast...he's been fine. Certainly much better than any other option right now.
