Is it not true? If your in a band and you arent signed and have a good fan base, and then you go to a huge label for millions of dollars, you'd be caled a sell out for taking more money.

So if Payton takes less money....how is he selling out? He wants a ring...do you blame him?

Ken Bikoff: (5:32 PM ET ) I think it could be extraordinarily dangerous for the Lakers to have that much talent on the starting lineup. I don't think it makes the Lakers a lock to win the title because you could run into a Trail Blazers-type of situation. Too many stars and not enough role players. Will Payton defer to Kobe in the crunch? Will Malone, if he signs, be willing to be the third or fourth option on offense? Will Shaq be able to get along with all three? Will Payton and Malone pick up the triangle offense quickly? There are a lot of questions with that type of lineup. They would be the favorites to win, but by no means a lock.

I kinda agree with that. All 4 of these guys are going to need to check their egos for the entire season. They will need to work together and respect each others game.

Well, I know basketball and while i wont say that this years lakers will have the greatest lineup in history, you can make an argument. Cmon, they have 4 future hall of famers on their team. Not many teams can say that.

oh yeah? tell that to certain past Lakers, Celtics and Sixers teams

As I said only a few teams can say that. Celtics in the 60's, 70's 80's. Lakers in the 70 and 80's and the sixers of the 80's. Thats only about 5 or 6 actual teams there. Like I said I dont think they are the greatest lineup but an argument vcan be made.

Ya, I agree. I think Malone can throw this all off.

If the Lakers don't pick up Malone, but do get GP, I think the Lakers still needs to get a PF. Obviously they won't have any money to go after anyone substantial anymore, but I would like them to pick up Robert Horry again. He would be great to have back, and could teach the rookies a couple of things about how to play. Maybe even Tyronne Hill (but he might be too pricey) or Gary Trent.
