    A few years ago, yes.

However, the team from the beginning of 08-Now is so, so much more talented. It's not arguable.

Edit: Let me ask this question, does anyone think the Clippers can win 60 games in back to back years if they got LeBron?

LeBron has endorsements now for sure.
But he can get Even more endorsements in a big market and more exposure.
Cleveland isnt exactly media capital or hollywood and the Cleveland economy isnt stellar either.

        From wikipedia:
Cleveland greater metro area has about 2.9 mil people.
LA greater metro has 12.9 or 17.7mil(soCal).
NY greater metro has 22.2 mil.

As a small business, if I have to pay LeBron say $2 mil for an endorsement, guess which place I would rather he be in?
My business would get more exposure from LeBron if he is in a big city.

Also, in a big city, LeBron would get paid more per endorsement as he can reach out to more people.
lol.. is this guy even being serious? i think he jagging with all you guys.

he knows Lebron is getting what he would be getting if he played elsewhere. if he thinks any different then he is fooling himself. i mean nike came out and said no matter where he played, the contract he just signed would be the same.

he will sign in Cleveland for 3 more years and gilbert will pay any amount on a luxury tax to keep the king happy.

Lebron has played for Team USA for the 2004 Olympics, the 2006 championships, and the 2008 Olympics so I don't know what your point is.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

In basketball of ALL sports, there's a big difference between general talent and a more talented "supporting cast". The team in Cleveland was built specifically to support Lebron. They have the defenders around him. They have the shooters at all positions for when defenders double Lebron or help on a drive. They've got guards who would be horrible as a "point" on other teams but perfect with a player like him. They've got serious veteran leadership in guys like Shaq and Jamison for playoff games so Lebron doesn't have to go all, uh, Lebron for an entire half like he's had to in the past.

No, I don't think the Clippers would work as well with him on the team. It's not just about having a group of talented guys. As good as the Lakers are, I still don't think Gasol and Bynum work well together. They'd be even better if they had someone like Jamison next to one of them. You can't just look at the numbers.

I don't know how old you are but things just don't work like that. Honestly, if Jordan was in Cleveland back in the day, he was big enough to go beyond this train of thought even before the days of the internet, cable outlets, international connections, etc. You could put Lebron on a team in Idaho and he'd be doing just as fine.

Like I said, the only difference would be on the team itself. Lebron brings more Cavs fans that buy Cavs merchandise. But for him personally, it doesn't matter where he plays.

Local radio guy Mike Trivisanno is reporting that sources have told him James has agreed in principle to a 3 year extension.
