Re: LeBron James Signs With Miami Heat
A part of me isn't surprised by it but a part of me also wants to know how would an exec from the Western Conference know this? It'd be one thing if it was somebody from the East but from the Western Conference though?#RespectTheCultureComment

EDIT: Probably cause he wouldn't be limited to just recruiting Eastern conference players Pack.Comment

Ever notice how when some big scandal happens (this is the equivalent in sports) w\ a celeb all these side storys come out to tack on, increasing the scandelousness? lol ...then they eventually just wilt away and never are spoken of again...I expect to hear stuff like this all month....

He could have gotten himself more help in Cleveland but he was going into Free Agency to be with Wade and Bosh no matter what. If he truly is going back they could have gotten any number of players to come there, but he handicapped the team by not telling anyone anything. He dragged out the process and then dumped the city on national television. I originally didn't think it would be that big of a deal, but seeing it actually happen and the fact that ESPN actually DID have cameras set up to catch the reaction of Cleveland fans...man.Comment

Also, it seems like those guys wouldn't have to do much recruiting. They've got a great core to begin with, now Riles needs to add quality pieces into the mix.San Antonio Spurs 5 - Time ('99, '03, '05, '07, '14) NBA Champions

Re: LeBron James Signs With Miami Heat
Yeah, but wouldn't these guys have reliable sources or even communicate amongst one another? I'm not saying I believe it's true, but I wouldn't completely doubt its validity.

This is the thing
Did LeBron do all of the GMing or did he not?
They can't even get their stories straight
They said he was the one okaying all of Clevelands moves but a couple of days out he never did it... LOL man
Just let it go, he's goneComment

Re: LeBron James Signs With Miami Heat
Don't worry dude this whole situation hasn't affected me at all. Just having discussion on the biggest NBA topic of the moment (I still actually like Wade, Bosh and James).
I'm assuming that the people are insinuating that LeBron "okayed" or gave approval of certain moves during the season. But, throughout the free-agent process (off-season) prior to this season was non-committal with regards to his future plans. Which in turn would hurt in his "recruiting" of free-agents.
Like you said it all sounds very hypocritical, but there can be some underlying truth in these "sources" information.San Antonio Spurs 5 - Time ('99, '03, '05, '07, '14) NBA Champions

Re: LeBron James Signs With Miami Heat
But him quitting in the playoffs was ok?
LeBron also had turned down a trade for Amar'e because he like JJ Hickson too much. But Cleveland didn't try. Ok.
He owed Cleveland something. They gave him control of the franchise, the city, everything. To do what he did was cowardly and then to say that Gilbert needs to look in the mirror, shows that this guy thinks the world revolves around him. He's a clown. I guess it's completely appropriate to leave to a franchise that gives two nut hairs about the team. So at least if he pulls this crap again, the fan base can collectively keep on not caring.
The way everyone is carrying on about this is amazing. Move on, there are more important things in life to get worked up over.Last edited by Dalsanto0026; 07-13-2010, 03:51 AM.Comment

Re: LeBron James Signs With Miami Heat
I get what you're saying there 23, but it's not quite the same. There's a difference between LeBron going to management and saying "I need some help man, get me someone in here." and management saying "Okay LeBron, we're already looking at Amar'e Stoudemire and Antwan Jamison. Who do you like?" and LeBron giving his preference and pushing for management to bring that guy in. There's a in difference in doing that and making calls and meeting with players and personally trying to get them to Cleveland. When's the last time he went out of his way to track down a guy at the airport that was coming in to meet with Cleveland?Comment

Re: LeBron James Signs With Miami Heat
I was just playing against Lebron in NBA 2k10, and I was laughing so hard. The announcers were talking the entire game about how great of a leader Lebron is and how it's amazing that he's this dedicated to winning and being the best at such a young age...NFL: Bills

Re: LeBron James Signs With Miami Heat
LeBron didn't do the GMing, but he was asked if he approved of moves before Ferry made them. Basically I think Ferry was doing his due dilligence to make sure there wouldn't be any problems.
Giving approval and actually recruiting guys to come to Cleveland is entirely different. Last week with Bosh was the first time in his entire stay in Cleveland where any story came out that LeBron was actively recruiting somebody (which I still don't believe since there was entirely too much erroneous reporting that week).Teams: Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, Ohio State Buckeyes, Kent State Golden FlashesComment
