Oh nah I was agreeing with you in that Miami all of a sudden won't start really giving a crap about Basketball just because of these 2 now.

Are people going to go to the games? Yes
Are people going to turn down the opportunity to go these games now? Probably not
Are people all of a sudden going to start becoming die hards like you have because of them? No

In short, they're not gonna give a damn about this team until May rolls around but they're not gonna be fools and pass up chances to see them play before then either.

They sold out in 2005, 2006, and 2007.

This team is about 100,000 times more watchable and has more hype than any sports team I've seen.

Everyone is going to care about the team to Lebron, Wade, and Bosh and that's what matters.

They aren't going to walk into a club and people say "who's Lebron James?"

Any city that got LeBron, Wade and Bosh on the same team would become basketball crazed and sell out every night.
After more than eight years on here, I finally figured out how to edit my time zone!

I was agreeing with you, too. People are only gonna go to games if they can see and be seen and if it's dubbed popular. It's the Fad Factor, and Miami is driven by it.

I think we can all agree that this current squad would sell out every game for whatever team they play for. Minny, New Orleans, Charlotte, OKC, whatever. Saying that this team is gonna sell out every game in Miami is just stating the obvious. It's a total circus.

Put it to you like this(and I think this is maybe where the confusion is coming in between us):

When I think of "Basketball Crazed City", Miami won't be the first city I think of and probably won't be the 2nd. By that phrase(talking NBA here) I mean Cities like NYC, Chicago, Boston, Utah, Phoenix...teams that have fans show up on a consistent basis regardless of who's on the team. Miami will probably become that NOW just because of these 3 alone but like it has been mentioned numerous times, 95% of the people that will go are going be folks that just converted to a Heat Fan in the last 2 weeks.

                  Bingo.

Miami is not inherently "basketball crazed." They need to be force fed a Wade/Shaq or mWo for them to show up to games like those teams you just mentioned.

To me that cover says that considering their different heights, Wade looks better in the middle. Guess it could've been Bosh but Wade still looks better... and it wouldn't "feel" right with Bosh in the middle.

Imagine this cover with Pierce in the middle. That'd be a photographer's nightmare... no balance.

*being funny but actually serious. It's just a cover.

Man those three together doing an interview is beyond obnoxious. It sucks though because there's no way they are not going to win now that they've got some good role players around them. Also, watching those Miami "fans" at that little pep rally was annoying. Nothing but a bunch of orange seats last year and now everyone loves the Heat. I feel sorry for any real Miami fans because you are lumped in with the biggest group of fairweather fans I've ever seen.

that about sums up sports in every city. what do you think will happen to the Cavs 2 seasons from now, empty seats. winning brings in revenue.

No, it's not sports in every city. There are citites that are good sport cities that don't just care about the team when they are good. Obviously the more a team wins the more people come out but even when the Heat are a playoff team that freakin arena still has a ton of empty seats. It's the cool in thing now so everyone will love it. If I may be blunt, bandwagoners make me sick, I respect them less as people and they have no heart or soul. The only people that are allowed to be bandwagoners are children.

And Cleveland wouldn't be one of them.

In the three years prior to Lebron the Cavs ranked 16, 23, and 29 (which was last at the time) in the league in attendance.

Even once they got Lebron, the first time they sold out was 2007 when they went to the Finals.

For comparison, the Heat finished 8th in attendance when they had a 15 win team and Wade missed half the season.

I'm not arguing Cleveland being a great sports town, I'm more arguing against the bandwagoning Miami Heat fans. It's vomit inducing. That pep rally was a masturbatory pornagraphic display of disgustingness.

Is that 8th in actual attendance at the game or number of tickets sold because all the businesses and the "in" crowd bought season tickets because the team had just came off a championship?
