I heard over the radio a new owner is looking to buy 51% of the Clippers. Thats one of the reasons it may make sense.

And Sterling will not sell. I'm pretty sure he already said he is not interested.

Don't know about his resume vs. Browns just as well as I don't know about Thibs' ability to conduct an offense, though returning to being a great defensive team might be enough for Cleveland. It'll be interesting to see what happens with Z and Shaq. They're both aging, and I don't think Cleveland can win a championship without controlling the glass and having reliable size advantages.

Also interesting will be seeing what, if any, free agents sign with Cleveland while Lebron window shops.

Most importantly, Chicago doesn't have a great reputation for treating its players right in the long run. Not saying it'll keep Lebron from signing there, but I think Chicago has to do more than just get Lebron. Hinrich and Deng will have to be moved, but depending on what they get, they aren't fielding a better team than Cleveland. Sure, Rose is a stud, but Chicago's bad shooting will come back to bite them in the playoffs. Orlando becomes a very, very difficult matchup if you can't hit the 3 or guard Dwight, which I think will be a problem for Chi-town on both fronts. People keep talking about Lebron playing with Rose, but I think he needs a big man or a perimeter shooter more than a PG. Lebron basically plays PG.

Though Chicago would be an amazing team in the fastbreak.

Kind of funny to me that people are totally ruling out Jersey when they have an intriguing, rich owner, a proven coach, a great young center, an explosive scoring point guard, a temporary move to a better place and a long term move to a much, much better place, and a wide open record book. Oh and what, a third draft pick? Maaann....

Out of every lineup in the league that can sign Lebron, Jersey is the one that has a gaping hole at SF and possibly nowhere else.

Brown was not a good coach, but his resume is pretty GD amazing. Not to mention he has been a HC in the NBA.
Well Thibbs has been in the league longer, and yes you are right, my statement is flawed because Brown has actually been a HC.

              Also concerning Thibbs:

I guess I've just been more influenced by the fact that Boston has played such brilliant defense in both of their finals appearances.

Houston and NY were also great defensive teams when he was there.

Brown helped SA be great and then had INDY and then CLE

I'm guessing you are assuming the Nets get a PF with their first pick? Other wise, yeah, NJN definitely have another hole outside of SF.

And their bench isn't the best. Although if Williams comes on, then they will have a decent guard rotation. Big man rotation is pretty bad though *outside of Lopez.*

You don't think him being there would attract a high level coach? There's still 2-5 out there isn't there? I'm sure he'll have his choice of those.

I'm not so sure he's going to sign before they get a high level coach.

Because people are still using the "playing in Newark for 2 years" thing but other than that, there hasn't(or at least I haven't heard or seen one)a viable reason as to why he doesn't want to come here. I've been saying all along that he's not going anywhere and that he's going to remain in Cleveland but you could definitely make a very strong case for Jersey.

The one advantage that we already have over the other teams that have a REALISTIC chance of getting him is Coaching because we have a guy who's been to the top and is a proven winner in this league.

Right now my order would be:

                        1. Cleveland
                        2. NJ
                        3. LAC
                        4. Chicago
                        5. NY

I think the Nets and Clippers have about the same amount to offer, with pluses and minuses.

Right now my order on where I want him to go:

                          1- New York
                          2- New Jersey
                          3- Chicago
                          4- Los Angeles
                          5- Cleveland

Right now my order on where I think he'll actually go:

                          1- Chicago
                          2- New York
                          3- Cleveland
                          4- New Jersey
                          5- Los Angeles

When are you going to laugh at it? Unless he ends up in NY, there's no way of telling whether they were 2 or 5. Personally, what I hear is a lot of media talking about NY because being NY immediately makes it a hot story. They started talking about him going to NY years ago, but Lebron didn't. If he decides to choose a place that will lead to him winning soon (he's got a huge monkey on his back to get a championship after 7 years), there'd need to be a lot of big moves made for the Knicks to even be an after thought.

Barring injury, LeBron will be a Brooklyn Net in 2014-2015. This is a lead-pipe lock.
