If the Lakers don't win it, i'm rooting for Lebron. Cause if he doesn't win a ring this season, no man should have to go through what he is going to go through if the Heat don't win. It's going to be brutal.

I'm hoping they get the Knicks first round and somehow the Knicks beat them. Obviously that isn't going to happen, but the comedy that would ensue from the Heat getting bounced in the first round of the playoffs would be of epic proportions.

Winning a ring isn't going to stop the jokes or criticism from coming at him, even if he wins 3 or 4 more. Hell, Kobe has 5 and the MJ Jokes still keep coming.

No it won't stop it, but it won't even be close to what it was....

You can make all the Miami Cheat, not 1 and hairline jokes you want, and I'm sure Skip will remain on his jock....

But winning shuts the masses up. All that other stuff become irrelevant

Consistently winning shuts the masses up, not just winning 1 ring. The jokes will not stop coming just because he has 1 and they probably won't stop if he gets 2 because at the end of the day you're still going to hear "Well, Kobe still has 5 and Lebron only has 1-2", especially in today's generation.

And because not too many people care that Dirk has a ring. Not to mention....Dirk is not Lebron either, come on now.

Hell, Eli Manning has 2 Super Bowl rings and he's still the 3rd most talked about QB in NY LOL.

Dirk wasn't set to head to the HOF while still in HS.

Dirk doesn't have a tattoo calling himself the king.

Dirk stayed in Dallas and won his ring.

Dirk didn't team up with 2 all stars and cheese in front of the camera about winning 7 championships.

Dirk didn't rip the hearts out of the fans of the team that drafted him who also are essentially his home town.

For many, many other reasons... Dirk is not Lebron.

Come on now, you and I both know that Dirk isn't Lebron(even though Dirk went thru what Lebron is going thru prior to last year). Why do you think the Heat losing was a bigger deal than the Mavs winning, but yet the year before, the Celtics didn't get alot of attention/criticism for losing to the Lakers?

Im just saying, and maybe it's the shows I watch.....I've never heard anyone criticize anyone over the amount of rings they have....repeat: the amount of rings they have. Sure, call Kobe chucker, bad teammate etc. but ive just never heard THAT criticism....if you have, so be it.

My laundry list was in response to what you posted. You can say "Ok I was wrong on that, but this is still what I meant." but don't act like I'm off based.

And don't act like I'm taking shots at Dirk either because you should know I'm not and haven't. MY point is no one expected to hear any criticism of Dirk if they didn't win, besides the whispers hear and there we've heard for years. Dirk isn't Lebron so it's a bad comparison.

I don't even know what you're arguing anymore because you went from "Nobody will make corny ring jokes about Lebron" to "Well nobody criticizes Dirk for having one" to "Nobody criticizes the amount of the rings you have".

I think you're off on that wwharton. I think the point 24th was trying to make about Dirk, not that people went in there expecting criticism, but the criticisms of him not having rings and choker and all that stuff hasn't been mentioned anymore since he won his ring. However, the point I was trying to make about it, was of course no one is still clowning Dirk because he beat the bigger issue. Just about everybody hates LeBron even the people that talked **** about Dirk prior. So Dirk pretty much became a hero to everyone by beating the Heat and raining on their parade in their first year together when it looked like they were pretty much destined to win.
