Please ****ing jesus stop with MJ comparisons. My gawd.

The further we remove ourselves from the MJ era, the more context gets lost, and you have a bunch of arm chair analysts staring at basketball reference thinking they have the answers.

          Re: The LeBron James Thread

Props to you guys for naturally moving this thing back on topic (how THIS thread could go "off topic" is insane to even imagine) but since it hasn't been said yet...

This is NOT a Kobe thread. I can't say anything about the annoying comparisons to him or anyone else, but the general talk about Kobe will stop or trolling warnings will begin being handed out. Take it somewhere else please.

          Thanks.

Also the Lebron/Jordan thing is kinda pointless though isn't it. Jordan had 3 years of College.

It doesn't matter anyways. Because, yannnoooo comparisons sucks.

This, and they're not even the same type of player, can't really compare LeBron to anyone, that's not saying he's the best, just saying there's never been anyone like him.

In an interview today, LeBron said it will take "something really unexpected for him to leave Miami".

I truly believe Lebron has matured since 2010, but I still take that with a grain of salt.

So the Horncats could actually get their **** together, build a great squad, and we still wouldn't win a division title for the next decade.

                        Oscar Robertson? Magic Johnson?

There are players like him, he just plays a different position than they did.

Those are close, but LeBron can score better than both of those, play better defense, and rebound better.

IMO, we've never seen a player like LeBron James....and it's ok to say that, this doesn't mean he's the GOAT or anything more..

The similarities between him, Magic and O end at the fact they are great playmakers for their size...other than that, they all have unique attributes that make them great all around players...

I'll say this, just for the sake of the Jordan arguments here and on ESPN... And mainly because I feel the "more rings" argument is basically stupid.. And everything the guys on ESPN say one way or the other is stupid.

If I took away all the stats, all the rings, all the MVPs, accolades, etc etc.. If I took away everything and just watched the two of them play, I don't think it's a big stretch at all to say LeBron is as good of a basketball player as Jordan..

Obviously he probably won't touch his legacy, I don't think a player who came in and won 10 rings could touch his legacy just because its Jordan.. But just as a BASKETBALL PLAYER I don't think it's crazy at all to make a case for either or..

I've always said, Jordan is the greatest basketball player I've ever watched, and now I say LeBron is the greatest I've watched since Jordan left.

                                Yes, it is.

This is true, but the comparison is still no where close. Leave the **** alone. LeBron is a fantastic player, and the best of this generation bar none, but his game is no where in the class of Michael's and never will be. Let the man live. Jesus.
