Re: The LeBron James Thread
Also would it be considered "disrespectful" if he chose to stay in Cle? Would that have been disrespectful to Mia, NY and Chi who pitched Lebron also?
I think you are using the wrong word to describe this because disrespectful doesnt seem to fit.Comment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
The difference is him not letting the Cavs know prior to announcing it on the Decision. They found out like every one else. That's disrespectful to a team that had done everything for him in his previous eight years. Dan Gilbert didn't buy the team until '05 and he took care of LeBron and his crew and let them have free reign throughout the team. He owed the team better than how they found out.Comment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
All I have to say is that LeBron is one cold blooded guy. Probably the most in this type of situation. I'm ready for this to be over with and he doesn't look phased by this at all lolThe Buzz is Back in the Queen City. Cho........I have no idea what you are going to do in this draft man.Comment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
Now that could be considered disrespectful but part of the appeal of the Decision was the element of surprise. Not knowing where Bron was going. You think the Cavs wouldve held on to that info if Bron and his team told them before? Hell no. Gilbert wouldve leaked that **** immediately as a **** you to Lebron.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
I still think that he is trolling a little but I'm not going to begrudge a guy taking more than a day to decide a decision that will affect him and his family.
****, I've taken weeks to consider job offers before and I'm not Lebron James.Comment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
Would it have hurt I wonder? A lot of people really just assumed he was staying in Cleveland. That's what I figured until literally the day of when it was confirmed by Jared Dudley he was going to the Knicks...Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Re: The LeBron James Thread
The Cavs did find out before the show went live though..
Back in Akron, James still wanted to go through his live hourlong television show on July 8 to announce his decision. This had been Maverick Carter's big idea, his production, and still people around him worried about the fallout in Cleveland. Several friends told James this was a bad idea to do to his hometown, that leaving the Cavaliers live on national television would make this a public-relations disaster for him.
James didn't seem to agree, didn't think it made a difference. Mad was mad, he thought. He would take a beating, but it would subside and people would love him again in Cleveland. The TV event had delivered hope to the Cavaliers that they would keep James because they never believed he would go on air and open himself to such a visceral reaction.
Better than anyone, they knew LeBron James could sometimes be so unaware of the world outside his own needs, his own yes men. Nearly two years later, the whispers in the back of the bus rolling through Beijing had become the loudest statement in free-agency history. The telephone call to the Cleveland Cavaliers came minutes before the 9 p.m. show, and somehow the news still shocked them. LeBron James was leaving, and the truth finally washed over owner Dan Gilbert and his front office: James had been gone a long time. They just never wanted to believe it."To the last minute, to the last second, to the last man, we fight"Comment
