Something about his decision which would make sense, having multiple platforms actually "bidding" for the rights to be the one where he announces where he'll sign. That could become a thing. Instead of guys just announcing it wherever they want, you'd have platforms paying guys to announce it on their platform.

Re: The LeBron James Thread
SpoilerI think it's a lock he either goes to LA or opts in and rides out 1 more year in cleveland to become a FA again next year or a opt out and resign a 2+1 to become a FA in 2019 summer when those cap spike salaries like dengs go away.
Don't be shocked if PG signs a 1+1 or 2+1 regardless of where bron goes because the door is open for PG/kawhi/bron next year or the year after without having to trade any of the young pieces.
LA only has deng under contract for 2019 with options on hart/ball/kuz/ingram so you can legitimately see them running kuzma, ingram, lebron, kawhi, and whatever else they fill the roster out with (i think ball is gone if lebron goes to la)
these are the odds from oddshark
- LA Lakers -155
- Cleveland Cavaliers +200
- Philadelphia 76ers +550
- Boston Celtics +900
- Houston Rockets +950
- San Antonio Spurs +2800
- New York Knicks +3000
- LA Clippers +4000
- Miami Heat +4000

Re: The LeBron James Thread
So today's rumor is that PG-13 is likely staying in OKC so LeBron's camp is adamant about Kawhi being acquired by LAL before LeBronze signs there."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: The LeBron James Thread
At some point LeBron has gotta get out of "win now" mode and play with some of these younger players anyway. He's gonna keep running into the same issue of guys breaking down on him and having limited runs as long as he keeps building these veteran teams with aging dudes trying to win it all right away.Comment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
So let’s say Philly trades for kawhi then wouldn’t the obvious spot for Lebron be philly ? You have Simmons, embiid, leonard and Lebron

Re: The LeBron James Thread
I think that teams like Boston and Philly feel confident that they will be able to convince Leonard to stay if the make a trade for him, regardless of what he's saying now.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Re: The LeBron James Thread
From Philly's perspective they are likely more concerned than Boston seeing as there isn't much out there saying Bron or PG is going to follow him to Philly. Does he want to go play in a city he doesn't want to be in with a bunch of young kids? I'm not sure. I think if I was Philly and Brett Brown I would want the guarantee from him fist. Because if not, even if they sign nobody this year, they have so many movable pieces over the next couple years that they can get someone who does want to be there.
Boston might have the better chance at getting him to stay, but with no guarantee that he'll stay, or that he is healthy, or that if he is healthy he will regain his form from what will now be two seasons ago. They aren't really in the position to gamble when right now they are the best team in the conference and they are younger, healthier, cheaper, more flexible, and have more trade chips moving forward than they would be with Kawhi.
I think if I'm Boston I would get him if it meant I could keep Brown, Tatum, and Horford. A package around Rozier, Smart, Morris, etc.. And I would trade Kyrie for him straight across with no extra players, picks, etc. Otherwise I'm probably staying put.Comment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
Trading for Kyrie would pretty much be redundant because they’d be right back in the same situation with having a star player who can walk for nothing in a year. Like you said, if Kawhi doesn’t want to be in SA of all teams, then I’m not sure if Kyrie wants to be either.
Honestly, I don’t see Boston overpaying for Leonard but that’s going off past behavior of them.#RespectTheCultureComment
